- It's been a journey exploring new music every day. BTS has been good to me along with their fans, so thank you. Thank you for making me aware of "Not Today" by BTS ..it was definitely a STATEMENT song! A lot of that was reflected in the production so take a look at what I thought of the instrumental!

Considering RM, Suga, and J-Hope are three of BigHit's producers as well as members of BTS, and work on nearly every song BTS makes, then yeah. Of course, those three aren't the only producers working on BTS' songs, there are other producers at BigHit, but RM, Suga, and J-Hope are huge contributors. I do suggest looking more into the members backgrounds! It could give you a lot of interesting information, and so you'll know a little more about them when talking about their music! Also, when you said "It's like they're the only ones that believe in themselves, maybe that's how it was at one point in their lives", that actually is true. At one point, BTS was struggling. They came from a small entertainment company (which is a big deal for idols in South Korea), and they barely had enough resources for food or medical exams (Suga was hit by a car and his shoulder was injured, but he was scared to bring it up to the company because at that point in time, they couldn't afford medical expenses), they lived in a one bedroom one bath apartment together, it was hard for them. No one believed they could make it, and sometimes it was even hard for them to believe in themselves, since one of the members, J-Hope, almost left. The member managed to convince him to stay. There was a point in time where they were all they had, the only ones who truly believed in themselves, and now everyone is watching them, which is incredible.
Megan Lowe 💜J-Hope actually did leave and RM went to PD Bang and told him BTS wouldn’t make it without him. Bang convinced J-Hope to come back. Thank goodness!💜

Yes, it was like that during their early years upon debut. They are mocked, ridiculed and dragged down. Not a lot believed that they'll survive and make it long, only ARMYs. They almost gave up but told themselves, NOT TODAY. BTS only had themselves and Armys before and look at where they are now. I feel so proud.
Maigne Allyson They still have only ARMY. Just like Jimin said, it’s not easy being army, when you’re in the fandom long enough, you realize there’s two kinds of ARMYs.
1: the ones that won’t give up BTS for anything bc support = support.
2: casual army that are quick to drop bts whenever and pick them up whenever.
There’s a third kind, but it’s really sad when see them.
3: the ones that claim army, but their best friend is the line; “I’m an army but --“ and proceeds to dump on bts and other army who defend bts.

It is my first love too. The first BTS MV i watched and made me an ARMY last yr! I used to play it every chance i got. I can't sleep without watching it but i ended up not being able to sleep when i do. Like being hypnotized. Those V formation is mesmerizing and the beat keeps making my heart race. Like seriously i never felt like that in my entire life! Only BTS music can do that to me.

Many criticized them and told them that they will never make it. But because of their hardwork, lyrical genius skills, dedication, love for their fans, and teamwork, they are now on top and they deserve it. They beat many groups from TOP agencies because people relate to their songs ( songs bout how to survive depression, bullying,political issues, how to feel confident, etc.) They sleep only in one bedroom in their 1st years as artist. They even went to the streets just to iinvite people to their concert for FREE. But now they soldout in mins. Daebak. They actually cured my depression and many ARMYs' too. There is no other group out there like them that literally started from scratch without any resources readily available, write and produce their own songs, and are lyrically genius. And lasted this long. (Checkout ddaeng as explained by a korean, cypher 4, anpanman, 2 3, the meanings behind these songs are amazing). Im also a VIP but BTS is my number one.

Ive been to their WINGS tour shows and this was the opening song and lemme tell you... THIS SONG KICKS SO DAMN HARD RIGHT OFF THE BAT ITS NUTS!!! The vibration shakes your soul... Its amazing

Not Today is number 1 on my workout playlist and ive never thought of that perspective of the music video! Keep the insights coming, you have good instinct. Also! You're right about the hype song bit. It was the opener song for their Wings Tour. Ironically, IDOL was the opener for the Love Yourself Tour. 🤔
Also with the bullets, well BTS is really Bangtan Sonyeondan which is Bulletproof Boyscouts. Their theme/concept at debut was like..they are the bulletproof vests for the youth. Taking bullets for them while sharing their stories through music. The bullets and gunshots are all there early on in their discography/videography so its fun to see it come back in later songs.

Can I just say I love the composition of the immediate intro of the actual song, the hard beating (synths?), some harsh beats, the "revving" sounds like a motorcycle, and then the screech right when Suga starts.
I love different professionals reacting to BTS songs. Dancers, music producers, writers, movie/video producers, make up and hair professionals etc etc because there are so many genius and beautiful aspects to react to and that's why I love BTS and their production team 😍❤

BTS came from a company that wasn’t very well known, so everyone automatically assumed that they’d be a failure but they kept working hard and look at them now! They’ve achieved so much, and I’m really proud of them.

You are absolutely right on about their live performances. I weent to their Citifield stadium concert earlier this month. The seats literally shook with the base notes. You must go experience it yourself one day. It was a very intense concert experience. The hard hitting beat resonated throughout the floor at the stadium.

What I love about this song is not only the base as you said, but also the colours in the background attract on the video and the dancing the choreo is set in such a way that that they are charging the camera, so you can feel the intensity because of the dance moves......which is another reason i like the song.

Hi Joey! RM produced Idol and Not Today! That’s why the sounds somewhat similar because the producer is the same. RM produces most, if not all, of BTS music. However, J-Hope, Suga, and Jungkook help produce the songs as well, but Jungkook only does certain songs.
Alison Hoffman the producer was pdogg lol. He produced the synth, keyboard, vocals and was the recording engineer. Tbh bts producing everything is a huge overstatement, BigHit has a team of producers just like other idol companies but members get to have their input as well. The members don’t produce most of the music in full, some b-side tracks they get lots of input and solo mixtapes they work on it for sure on their own for the most part

This is my 4th video I watched from you reviewing a BTS song and I am really impressed that you actually paid attention to every detail even the smallest ones from the songs which makes your reviews authentic and not just another TH-camr hopping the bandwagon and using BTS for views and subscriptions. I am amazed and I somehow get the feeling that musically inclined people really do understand things in music that not everyone does and for that, you get a new subscriber from me!
