Fun fact: since nintendo took this game down from gamejolt this adds to the actual mario lore seeing the way they see copyright laws and taking the game down it therefore makes this entire game canon in the mario universe.

This hurts. The normal ending is much easier to digest. It’s way more grim but burying your feelings and dragging your feet to confront them requires way less strength. It’s much easier. Even if it’s not actually easier.
Idk I feel too much with this ending. Mario or whoever this is’s feelings are really well illustrated. Those steps must feel so alone and so heavy.

This is the best creepypasta game, because it's a game first, then a creepypasta.
Pretty nuts that Nintendo took this down. If I recall, their rules for fan games is that it can’t be something that could be confused as something Nintendo would make (i.e. game remakes or sequels) or it can’t negatively affect their image (i.e. pornographic games). So either Nintendo thought this would somehow hurt Mario’s image or, surprisingly, Nintendo is planning on releasing a Mario game where Mario is forced into a nightmare dimension to cope with the pain of Luigi’s death.
i love how the glitch level looks the most intimitating when going in but then in actuality its the least scariest xd

I have no idea why this was recommended to me randomly but, while I'm here I just gotta say, I love the vibe that this fangame puts off. It feels so strangely mediocre yet somehow cool and well made at the same time that it's hard to explain what it's doing exactly.

I wonder what Luigi has to do with this maybe he died in tragic accident because of Mario's stupidity and now he's a vengeful spirit what haunts him until the end of the game
Pretty sure it’s symbolic, especially with how the good ending portrays Mario as coming to terms with his brother’s death and visiting his grave after who knows how long.
Maybe Mario did do something on accident that got his brother killed? And the nightmares are all his guilty conscious bashing the thought in again and again that it was his fault, even if unintentional.
That and depression, as he actually decided to take his meds. Those with grief from loss and/or depression do give a lot of nightmares, even hallucinations at times.
Maybe the bleeding out near the start means something? Who really knows unless the Dev explains or something.
Pretty sure Mario blames himself for it, but he really isn't at fault. At the end of the Ghost House, we can assume the text was trying to say "It was not your fault"

Maybe Mario didn’t do something but just his brother dying and him not being able to help makes him feel like it’s his fault, even if it really wasn’t. Maybe the “it was not your fault” might be coming from Luigi’s spirit or something. He knows Mario feels guilty regardless, even though he shouldn’t.

I appreciate the effort that probably went into the making of this game but I think it's one of the best examples of how not to approach the horror genre. Nothing here works at all
