- Shamanism is practiced around the hills and himalayas of Nepal. There various types of Shaman are found in Nepal. Some Shamans are Bon religion based Shaman and some hindu goddesses based Shamans. Here in this video we show you Shamans of Himalaya (Humla district of North West Nepal).

Thank you for this video. This is same as shamans of our valley here in himachal. Humla is the place where shamans of drab-lha shaktse perform ritulas to this very powerful bon dietie. We from the valley of kullu in indian himalayas, also worship this dietie as one of our main dieties. We call him Deo Jamlu. In this context jamlu-akbar legend is also a very popular folklore here.

Shamans are believed to have originated from Serbia if I am not wrong but they are very common in Nepal....including Dhamis and Jhakris (witch doctors)
