  • The ”Chagu Chagu Umakko" festival, dedicated to the horse deity, is held in Iwate Prefecture. It features a parade of decorated horses traveling 14 kilometers from Sozen Shrine in Takizawa City to Morioka Hachimangu Shrine in Morioka City. The name "Chagu Chagu" comes from the sound of the bells worn by the adorned horses.
This festival is designated as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Asset of Japan, and the sound of these bells is recognized as one of Japan's 100 Must-Preserve Sounds.
