this might be in reference to the place of the wright brothers first powered flight (kill devil hill, kitty hawk north carolina). this came out not too long after bruce got his pilot license.
It totally is, it is about their daring ordeal of being flight pioneers. It's really an incredible lyrical representation of the feat: Blood brothers of angels, now hear us (The Wright brothers, of angels, since they are bound to fly) We earthbound your offspring, don't fear us (earthbound as in, we are not originally flying animals) God willing will rise up be near you (rising to the angels, who fly) So open your arms now and take us (us I suppose, the rest of humans, who after their discoveries will be able to fly as the angels) ... And so on, with so many other beautiful takes...It's truly a metal gem

Couldn't have said it better..... The whole song is fire but that outro gives goosebumps and vivid picture of an ocean sunset with blowing sand and crashing waves.... Love this song
