Yes!! Here we go!! Bruce is a good name, especially after Meyer! It’s not a bad thing to do at all. I thought it was early when I seen the swingaxle. If ya need anything let me know!! There’s always surprises in the tunnels. 😁

Great vid bud,i own a VW 1967 FF Buggy, ive done loads of work to myn,a good mod is adjustable rear spring plates, just makes it easier to get it sitting right, good time to ad when replacing the rear bushes. One you own one of these you wont want to sell,so do a good job to start with,so much fun.Dont skip getting the gearbox checked out,(many skip this) i replaced syncros + loads of other internal stuf, including reverse gear, known to get worn.Nothing worse than putting everything together to find gearbox probs, trust me i know!! Take your time, good luck. The Buggy community will always help & advise.

Thanks again J, I know when it was built many years ago it was gone through. Do you think it still needs to be gone through again?I know the owners barely drove it

@@royworks28Thats a difficult one to answer, this is my take, these VW based buggies are relatively easy to work on,if you have time to learn,do everything yourself, that way you know its done right, and if you have a prob down the line ,you will know how to sort it,i dont know the previous restorers, were they throw it together guys/girls, or proper builders? the amount of info on the web should get you 100% there, i and others will try and help.I know my buggy inside and out and it didnt take me long to learn the process.I dont know how far you have got on this, but having watertight conectors for the engine electrics is a must,it also means taking the engine out is a simple unplug, then 4 bolts!!! Also i dont know what fuel your going to use,but make sure the hoses are good quaility,i used Coden SAE J30 R9 rated stainless braded, but i have 2x twin dellorto carbs on my bug.Chip away slowly and you will have a great bug.

I'm honestly wondering why so many people seem to be hell bent on having a genuine Meyers Manx. Who cares? I personally think that one of the coolest features of fiberglass buggies is that there is a vast number of bodies that each have their own personalities. Some of them are rather cheaply made but again, who cares? Fiberglass is easy to repair and easy to modify. Easy stuff to work with. So Roy, you have a unique car there and I think that you should not worry about it one bit. Bruce is a GREAT name for it. I have not decided what in the world I'm going to name my buggy.

I agree, I mean I have huge respect for his work. But I do like the freedom to do what ever you want with it without being judged. I’m really looking forward to continuing on this project.

Call it what you want but from what I've seen about Mr. Meyers, he would not be amused at anything but his Manx (that's with an X) bearing his name. He was rightfully, very bitter after he lost the lawsuit and the patent. Honestly I'd probably call it Caitlyn but admittedly, I have a twisted sence of humor.
Oh I forgot to say, I like the project looks like it'll make a nice buggy.

@@royworks28 In an interview with Jay Leno (that I had not seen before I commented) he actually says he let go of all that bitterness. So let's consider my previous comment wrong.
