Yes, of course !!! In the recipe, the vanilla is optional, so you can do the recipe without adding it in!!!
when mixing the flour with the hand mixer on high speed it will fly everywere we do not want that coming up at you
That's sweet. Honestly, I dont put the mixer at high speed , I usually do it on medium so that it doesn't always make the flour fly but it's not that bad.
