You guys should rotate the camera around to closer shots (or use another party member's PoV in first-person) to demonstrate some battle effects. The constant, distant third-person camera view for this becomes stale, and makes it easier for people to criticize visuals. There's a brief closer side shot at 8:10, but otherwise it's largely the boring slightly inverted third-person view.
Yeah I'm confused on the insistence on third person. EQ was made with first person in mind and immersion. Feels like they aren't selling what this game is about very well or what truly brought me into EQ and it was extreme immersion.
Fantastic video! Where are the other classes? I wanted to see one on each of the tank classes so I could make a more informed decision on my future class!
is there going to be an ingame option to toggle off the combat texts and just see combat chat for that kinda stuff like classic everquest or even world of warcraft you can toggle them off.
Will there be an option to turn off the "a" and "an" on every enemy unit name? I think if I am calling out an emeny I will naturally use the proper indefinite article naturally.
Holy crap, this looks so much like EQOA, my favorite online game of all time. If the Monk class ends up looking good, I may end up playing quite a bit of this when it's out.
suggestion on this class instead having casting animations maybe the animations could be more aura based so limit that down time on a melee class. for when running harder content.
The Dire Lord is well built, but I feel like Vital Cage should restore Health and not Essence, or at least that's what it should change into at max mastery. I realize Lifetap and Blood Fiend already restore health, but I feel like Dual Wielding is going to make them more susceptible to white strikes, and in the end make them harder to keep alive. Also I'm glad Provoking Phantoms caps at 20 otherwise it would be broken.
If intellect increases the amount siphoned from debuffs, is there a cap? This seems like a hybrid with lots of options but players will be forced to build down a specific path this removing kits. Which is fine.
I was excitted to play a Dire Lord, hoping it was going to be an improved on version of the EQ Shadow Knight. But it looks from this that there has been little improvements and more of a cut and paste. Sad to see that the stat debuff/siphons play such a large role in the class. These were next to useless in EQ. Debuffing Str, dex, int, etc. is difficult to undestand how it impacts the fight. Additionally with mob scaling at level increases the amount the debuff removes becomes inconsiquential compare to the stats of higher level mobs. This should be a % debuff and just make it %damage remove, or %armor removal, %slow, etc. This will make it easier for the users to understand what they are doing and ensure it has at least some impact no matter the level.
Summoner and Ranger aren’t even playable yet. Dire Lord was one of the first classes and this is an update video. I am eagerly awaiting Ranger, but I’m not optimistic on it being soon. Watching the newsletter monthly for signs they have finished networking and started the pet systems.
I think that nothing will save this prototype besides an Alpha. The community has grown resistant to "milking" by now. Make EQ equivalent without additional systems, open it up for alpha players, and then people will likely open their pockets to some degree, so you could potentially complete the "vision". Otherwise people will think that you are just going to retire with their pledges.
Damn, so many things to worry about for my cannabis ridden 40 year old brain. I suppose when I get in in beta I will just pick whichever class does the least work and is easiest to remember. Or maybe I will just be a shitty player wandering around.
These classes always scale up in complexity over dozens of hours or gameplay. New skill every once in a while, so I think you will be able to manage even I'd you are baked out of you mind!
I had high hopes for this game, but lets be real. it's 9 years and all we see is 80% talk, 15% art concept and 5% work in progress that seems taken from a mmo of 15-20 years ago. and even if pantheon will be releasd in a distant future, it will never have a player based large enough to stay on the market. I wish the things were different, but that's what I see. the devs should show something much more solid, if they want a fan base larger than few thousand people worldwide. my 2 cents

What unique or otherwise utility do they offer for a group? What about abilities that interact with the environment like the rogue’s rope, the druid’s bridge, and the mage’s raft? Also, do we get to make people run fast? :)
