Please keep going with this channel! At my current job, I recommend Noteful to college students all the time and it will be wonderful to have a resource like this to provide as a reference.
I’m just starting out in Noteful and needed someone to explain how to setup and use layers, specifically for digital planning. This was perfect, thanks so much!!
So happy that your channel was recommended in a FB digital planning group. I just seriously began working with Noteful yesterday. Your minimalistic approach to layers is genius! I had started with several layers and realized quickly that was not going to work. But two? Perfect! I’ve subscribed and watched both your videos and look forward to seeing future videos.
I switched to Noteful after the Goodnotes 6 update and it’s been completely amazing! The updates are so good and yes, the layers is a huge game changer. Could never go back to not having them 😊
This was such a helpful video! I just started using Breezy O products and have been getting so frustrated with Goodnotes. I was trying to figure out the layers in Noteful but gave up! Thank you! I think I’m going to switch over.
I’m so glad I saw your comment because it never occurred to me to use both apps together! I thought if I switched to Noteful I’d have to move all my sticker to there too. Now this idea is way less overwhelming. Thanks!
Thanks for the amazing information. I have been searching for an alternative to goodnotes due to the glitches. The layers reminds me of photoshop elements
I love seeing digital planners using other apps than goodnotes!! Yay -- my favorite is Zoomnotes -- it can do everything you showed here but has a few more features - you can change the opacity of each layer -- really nice for working with backgrounds that you love but want to mute a little - it also has master layers that allow you add to things to every page - like a link. Symbols are the same as elements and you can filter the select tool also --there's a little bit of learning curve it's kind of like learning an adobe products - lots of settings and menus but if you master a few you can add more as time goes on -- been a huge fan for years. BTW - I do use Goodnotes for my sticker books -- but save some of my faves in symbols.
I’ve heard a lot of great things about ZoomNotes! I tried it a long time ago, and it just seemed too complicated, but it really sounds like it’s worth the time to learn. I’ll have to check it out again!
Thank you for this video! I’m seriously considering switching from GoodNotes and this makes me really want to! The resizing from the middle drives me crazy too!!!
You did great Miranda! Goodnotes has been so wanky lately but I’m so used to it so I’m hesitant to change over to Noteful but you got me really considering a transition 😊
This was such a helpful video. I just downloaded noteful and like a lot about it but couldn’t figure out how to use the layers on multiple pages. The “locked” and “edit” layers make so much sense. Definitely going to play in it more. Have you ever tried freenotes? I felt like it was really similar but instead of layers, you can lock individual elements which I liked too
I haven’t tried Freenotes, I’ll have to check it out. Thanks! I used to use Noteshelf and you could lock individual images but I think they removed that option… I wonder why? But I do LOVE Noteful. There’s not much I would change about it. Have fun playing around with it!
I just found this and loving it! Maybe a great way to start the year. Is it easy to bring your planner into noteful? Seems like most plan makers are built to go to GoodNotes. Are you using GoodNotes just to save your sticker books?
It’s super easy, especially if you’re starting fresh! The process is just like GoodNotes-you just download the file and open it in Noteful. I went ahead and moved all my stickers into Noteful too, and I’m seriously loving how it’s working out! I’m actually making a video to show how I did it, and hopefully, it’ll be up later today… fingers crossed!
I’m not positive but when I did a Google search, it does say that Noteful is known to create smaller file sizes compared to Goodnotes, so I think it does use less memory. 👍
Just bought Noteful Pro, watched a few more videos and think I'll start my new 2025 planner here. Is there a way to move a planner that is in Goodnotes from prior to Noteful with all the pics, ect and still be able to edit? '
I really wish there was a way to transfer your planner from GoodNotes to Noteful and keep everything editable, but unfortunately, I don’t think that’s possible. You can export your planner as a PDF, and when you open it in Noteful, the links will still work-which is great! But anything you added, like stickers, pictures, or handwriting, will be flattened, so you won’t be able to edit it anymore. I wish I had a better solution for this!
@@NotefulPlanning that is very helpful. I had a planner for 2025, that had Oct-Dec of 24 in it, so you could get used to the new planner. I love it and wanted to bring it over to noteful as part decorated. but did want to use some of the stickers that I had worked on, Its' a work in progress for sure to learn it.
These videos are great! I just switched from Goodnotes to Noteful after finding your channel. I'm loving the layers feature.

This was very helpful. I’ve had Noteful for a while but had no idea how to use layers. This will help a lot, thanks!

Great video, thank you.
I am so glad that I have changed from Goodnotes to Noteful. I now only use Goodnotes for my stickers.

You did just fine. Please continue.

Seriously, who designed it that way! I think you’ll love Noteful if you decide to switch.
Thank you ❤
Aaaaand I’m sold!
Right! The layers change everything!

Also does Noteful seem to use less memory on the iPad? My GoodNotes is using so much memory

Thank you for the reply!
you did well
Thank you 😊
