The bin is Council property and also there responsibility to repair it, at least you didn't loose your bin in the truck and the operator cleaned up the mess!
yea i remebr my old nylex 240l recycling bins lid was broken when i was lifting it up to empty the contents in to the other recycling bin then the lid handle snapped 2 years ago then and the start of this year i got the new one because a whole half of the the lid broke of.
Council replaced the lid for free. All I did was go to my local council website fill in a report, you then leave the bin on the foot path or where every its picked up from and they came by a few days later and put on a new lid. Hot glue is good but a few times being emptied and it all break again.
@@lancer1993 I noticed that he grabbed the bin with the lid still open, and the lid came off so easily just like that, couldn't even handle just a small amount of stress and came off just like that. Yep, I can definitely tell your bin is just cheap quality, This is a big problem with wheelie bins these days, they're not really that strong. They used to be real quality, well put together, really strong, now bins are designed to break easier than the old ones

Happens all the time, ask council for a new lid and they’ll fix it

Easier to contact the local council and they came out and fixed the bin lid for free. Also updated to a red top for general waste.

I emailed council, and less than a week later it was fixed, they put a new red lid on it, didn't cost me a cent.
