So I think it’s pretty obvious that shining is going to get an alternate considering that scene in chapter 10 where she (basically) says “I’m going to leave Rhodes Island for a while!” And then she leaves Rhodes Island for a while.
One of the most interesting things about medics is that there are a pair of 5⭐s who are legitimately useful even into endgame. Warfarin and Ptilopsis (to a lesser degree) are both useful in a pretty wide array of situations because they deliver so much utility.
Warf really outclasses poor Shining. Not always better but better in most situations that you have no reason to use shinimg. SP > Mediocre amount of additional defense

It's rare that I ever go for her S3 nowadays, and the time I'd be burst healing with someone like Silence I'd rather just play skalter and use her seaborn as a substitute for the drone. Reed alter isn't broken, they're LORE ACCURATE I suffered for years of people saying she's mediocre and outclassed by Vigna and Bags, and then her niche gets stolen by Bags' module, and then she gets a beautiful outfit that's a 15 OP with no special effects... I DESERVE THIS OK IVE PUT UP WITH A LOT (still miffed it's not live2d, even when Reed fans win, we still lose)
Allow me to be a bit more tryhard in explaining Kaltsit's niche through my experience. While it's most notably that she is used for her S3 as a ground true damage dealer, she can fulfill a fast redeploy role with Mon3tr, increase her healing output with S2 with very low cooldown and decent uptime. You might think that using her for these other niches are impractical since much better options exists, but I myself like low-op gameplay, and having a unit with such versatile toolkit adds a lot of flavour to my gameplay.
I feel like you should probably talk about Reedic's S2 a bit more. As in, in practice, Reedic is more used for S2 when you just really really want to melt a boss. You know, Reedic + 2 low ground thing to sandwich the boss. You can use Sexas S2, Surtr, Saria S3, etc. And the damage is really really high. Sadly it's pretty intricate and only works when the boss and map and stars align.

Reed Alter invalidates the majority of AOE and Chain Casters, even IF her damage is pre-buff Passenjesus level of awful. debuffing whilst being able to heal is all she needed in my opinion.
@@cheekywombat9208 My point is Realter's utility alone is better than most aoe/chain caster even without the numbers taken into consideration. I'm not saying that her damage is bad or anything. Her actual Atk stat is actually good for medic so she pretty much powercreeping most aoe/chain caster even harder. Realter is still a good medic if it is what you're asking, but she needed enemies in her range to heal so the healing is kinda suboptimal in practice.
I really, really, really need to level up nightingale. She just sit in my inventory lvl 1 since i refuse to changes my current medic setup. (I had a crippling addiction for perfumer+ptilopsis como, they pretty much a permanent slot in my team).
reed alter is on the second tier, with first tier I mean only surtr and mylnar. most people would not use third skill; second skill is used more often, and the dps is insanely high. As to high RES enemy, use texalter second skill to reduce RES.
