I don't usually put our softened well water in irons. I use bottled water in my cheap Black and Decker. For my Oliso mini-iron, the latest upgraded version, I don't put any water in it. I bought a fantastic spritzer bottle for water for ironing and pressing. Miss Yellow is so cute! I love her kitty cat little squeak.

I have this iron and I love it. When sewing for a long period, I prop it up on its end because if not they iron get so hot it was scorching my wool ironing pad. When I am ironing then I put it in the down mode and then press so no scorch marks. Enjoy your new sewing baby 😊
I don’t think the new ones have an off and on for the lift option. Someone else mentioned that and I don’t see that feature

I love my Oliso! I have a purple one. I never put any water in my irons. I prefer to spray the water from a spray bottle and then press. But everyone has their preference. Enjoy!!! I hope you love yours like I love mine! 😀

I have the aqua one. I don’t add water and use a mister bottle, but I love the heat. This will help your blocks lay flat. Great Iron, enjoy.

Congrats on your new iron!! I’m not sure how water affects the Oliso iron, but I don’t add any kind of water to my lesser expensive irons. I’ve heard from a few people that using a dry iron extends the life of the iron. I use a spray bottle if I have a stubborn wrinkle. Just my opinion. 🙂
You're going to love it! I got mine for Christmas and it's awesome! I don't put water in mine. I just keep a spay bottle near by. I'm surprised you didn't get the aqua.

Oliso sells refurbished ones on Ebay. I purchased mine there for less than $100. I've had zero issues with it.

I really hope that you incorporate your TH-cam into a business. All of the boxes, irons. Etc can be used as a business expense and you won’t pay any taxes! Smarter not harder. My son is a TH-camr. It makes sense to incorporate

Great brand! I've purchased this iron 3 different times. Once I purchased from MSQC and sadly sent it back because it didn't heat up. The other two I had I ended up parting with them. I did love the up and down feature but, the cord was a pain in my neck, I wish it was retractable. For me, this iron is too heavy. And not ideal for working with small pieces of fabric. I did get the mini Oliso but, I haven't used it yet. Probably because I prefer to use my cordless Panasonic. Enjoy your new iron!

Love mine! I bought it like new from Mercari. It does get hot when resting so I keep it on the June Tailor cut n press so it does not ruin my ironing cover. Hope you love yours too!

I got a pink Osilo iron and I loved it! Almost one year old and I went to use it and she was dead! Make sure you plug it into a surge protector! Mine wasn't and it was tragic! Trust me I'm not making that mistake on my new Tula Pink iron coming on Friday!

Oh, make sure you clean between the plate and the iron with a cotton swab, dust and lint gets in between and also the lift rod otherwise you’ll get brown lint bunnies on your fabric and it could stain. Also, I use a surge protector and shut the power completely off.

Use only Distilled water. It extends the life of your iron. That is all I use, I received an iron as gift when got married 1987, and I still using.

I have the yellow one. I have had her for a few years now. I only use spring water like the directions said, on mine. I just buy a gallon at a time, just for her. I also use spring in my Panasonic and distilled in my other at my longarm. I can’t remember what it is. Brain cramp. Anyhow the point is, use what it says for water and Do Not forget to activate the warranty! I had to use mine once and they sent me a new iron immediately.

Love mine! I also have well water, so I checked to see what to do *if* I ever put water in it, but I haven’t yet (2-3 years later). Directly from the manufacturer: Oliso recommends plain tap water. If you have very hard water, mix ½ tap water with ½ distilled water. Alternatively, bottled drinking water can be used. NEVER use 100% distilled water.
I got some water tester strips to see if our water was hard and it’s soft!! So I’m good to go
@@ArkansasGals That’s a great idea. I was watching the video and I went looking for strips, too. No idea how hard our water is either. We have a water conditioner and reverse osmosis system, but I got it with this house, so no clue how bad it really is….LOL.

I have this same iron. I love love love it, but I do not put water in it. I have heard too many bad stories with the water leaks etc.
Gurllll! Why didn't Jenny send you her MSQC limited edition iron? No, the code does not work on the Oliso - I did try cause I also wanted Tula's. The new Oliso mini is also quite marvelous. Sooooo - I have Jenny's! In all honesty, I didn't like the first mini - I kept burning my tiny T'Rex nubbins - the new Oliso mini if perfect though. Okay, I don't put water in my irons but if you do then just remember to empty it after use and don't let the water stay in it. LOL - I still have a tendency to sit it on end. I really enjoy both of them but I use the mini a lot more. Congrats!

Think about buying distilled water. Most steam irons recommend distilled water, despite what those instructions say. Or spring water may be best way to go. We have hard water here. I don’t use steam. Tends to stretch small pieces of fabric. Like cotton cuts projects…never use steam! 🇦🇺
I’m definitely a steam girl. Even with cotton cuts 😆 it just doesn’t lay right with out it for me anyway. But yet it can distort the fabric

DO NOT use distilled water in this iron. It will ruin the de-scale technology in the iron. Use your tap water.
