Any question about Bonnie’s supremacy as a Rock/Blues vocalist will be put to bed by this vid. My favorite band of hers and her nuanced, effortless singing on display here certainly never more masterful. And a sneaky great guitarist on top of it. This is a treasure.

She sings so effortlessly. These days, when singers want that rock timber, they would force it out by shouting. This is amazing.

Played all her early cassettes till they wouldn't play any more. Found CD replacements at a record store in Seattle late 90's, cashier said when bagging 10 CD's, Bonnie Rait fan? Saw her live on my birthday 2008. Best b-day ever! My heart weeps for her.

Bonnie at her peak here. I've always particularly liked those songs of emotional desolation where she sounds so lost and broken. One of her finest was the beautiful Nothing Seems to Matter. Nobody does songs like these better.

Heard (and owned) all this on LPs all those years ago. There were so few bands built around a woman, which is really a testament to her talent. Seeing folks like these play live or on "video" didn't come often. So much fun to see Bonnie and bassist Freebo on stage. Brings it all back.

This is great! This is around the time I first heard her on KMET in LA. "Angel from Montgomery." That was an unusually mellow record for me to buy as a young rockin' fella.

There is the Bonnie I love. She sings this faster in some shows. I have seen
Her more than any other person. Except Greg & the Allmans . I lived in Mempis for over 40 yrs. She played there alot. At Memphis in May one year, a 3 day festival on the banks of the MS river, she played her set on her stage. The Doobie Bros. played on the second stage, I think it was them. She joined them , Broke it down. Then it was time for Jimmy Vaughn and the Fabulous Thunderbirds. She joined them. Any way, it was three stages, she played them all and kicked ass. All of them ended on the last stage and it was fantastic. Thanks Bonnie.
Red Rocks was pretty great in '80 too. There was the ones with you and
Jackson, Ann Peebles was great. Kebmo, etc. You have always been my sisters and I hero. Girl, you are just a badass. Always have been, always will be. Lol. I sure hated about John Prine this yr. I got a t shirt at the Helena
AK Blues fest one yr. It said "life is the blues". That about says it all...
Hope you are doing well. Love ya, peace.

@Bonnie Raitt hello bonnie! It will be a pleasure and an honor for me to be able to hear from you and perhaps have a good word. I hope my bad English doesn't get in the way too much.

I met Bonnie in little record store in Berkeley around 1986. The only customer in the place, I browsed as the cashier was chatting with someone by the entrance. One of the records was hers. When I went up to pay, the cashier said, "Bonnie Raitt, that's her." She came next to me and offered to sign the record. Why oh why did I say, "no, that's OK"?

She played Good Friday in Sydney, a special person, speaks to the audience and sings with such sincerity, smiling eyes…but that voice!

I could watch Bonnie sing anywhere, anytime! But what is wrong with that audience? If I had been there I would have had to slap some of them upside the head. I hope they are horrified all these years later, unless they slept through life.

It looks like they somehow didn't realize how great she was I guess just like the rest of the world until 1990.

Hey, listen, go easy on them, they were Dutch....(perhaps some still are)... really nice people but VERY grown-up and well behaved.. And yeah, you know, probably just learning about this kind of music.. But hey, Bonnie rocks their heads off.... who knew about her in Yerp? Too few....(Little Feat fans had an inkling..)

holy shit! made it through a whole hour without an ad! Less notable is the fact that I almost went to school with Bonnie Raitt. Wonder how going to a private HS would have changed my life!
