    I'm wondering, why are you removing most of the parts? Of course, maybe it's something I don't understand, but I took a look at my local parts store, and there's two types of screens, first is just the display itself, and second is the display along with the frame of the phone..

  • @enricoatzeni6116

    Thanks for the video! Do I need to change or add new thermal paste? The smartphone seems to have heating issue and after 2 minutes playing music the sound turns off/on repeatedly (2 seconds on, 2 seconds off) while the player and the song still play (no pause). The issue appears also using external speaker through the jack.

    • @DIYGeardo
      @DIYGeardo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do not think, this is something to do with thermal paste.Poco Have some history with heating issues.Most of the time with the board.Don't you have warranty for this device?

    • @enricoatzeni6116
      @enricoatzeni6116 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DIYGeardo Yes but I think my warranty is gone when I removed those screws :-)
      Today I'll add some thermal paste, check every socket connection and test it again, I will let you know! Thanks!

    • @DIYGeardo

      @@enricoatzeni6116 You mean you had the warranty already?

    • @enricoatzeni6116
      @enricoatzeni6116 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DIYGeardo I had the warrany, but I broke the screen and the touchpad stopped working, so I replaced.
      Other two problems appear: the smartphone did not power up (from shutdown or reboot), the fingerprint does not work and all incoming and outgoing calls are being closed after 1 sec.
      BUT now I finally found that in the new frame was missing the light sensor... I detached the old one from the old frame and now (cross fingers) all works good.
      You can see it in 6:04: it is the little gold rectangle near the top of the assembly with frame

    • @godsinbox
      @godsinbox ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@enricoatzeni6116 the missing light sensor is an important find. it needs to be moved across to the new frame. it also the proximity sensor, and out of adjustment causes major problems in a call.
      it goes to show these guys are just faking a repair by opening and closing the parts, and makes me suspicious that it will never work with the proximity sensor.

The situation is similar to being in a rural area, far away from 4g signals, sometimes connected to H+, others with symbol ® and ocassionally to 4g but with very low speed. I also put the sim card in the slot #2. Thanks in advance

    If you just need to replace the battery - You actually don't need to detouch the camera. it can be lifted ~1cm up with cable still attached allowing you access for de- and reattachment of MB bus and the battery itself.

    This isnt an honest video, you havent broken the glue like we have to do, you can clearly see you have practiced this before. all your parts fall out, we have to pry them, that process is stressful.
    you also failed to mention the light sensor needs to be swapped 6:04. this is also the proximity sensor, not having this working properly has major consequences on call functionality!
    either the screen goes black during a call, or your ear can press buttons. I am suspicious that the replacement screen is not compatible with the sensor.
    also the thermal paste needs to be reapplied and is not provided with screen kits.
    I recommend you do not try this at home unless you are VERY sure it can be done.
    (I failed with the light sensor, not matter how I tried I could not get it adjusted to work)
