- Today I have a flip through of an altered book. If it looks familiar I did a previous flip through way back in the day, but well, this piece sold recently and I love this book so much that I wanted to give it a last look.

Hi Sandra. Pretty much the last one is always the best one. Of course, I also think that about concerts, books, meals, etc., but that doesn't mean it isn't true! 😺😺
I love the concept of visual story telling that you covey through the images, color, texture etc. you put together in your art. You helped me to process my own work in a new way. A lovely book.

I really enjoyed this tour of one of your finished altered books. I enjoyed how you gave an explanation of each page. The antique vintage ephemera you forage for and use is so unique. I think I’ve said this to you before, that I like your style and how you curate the images so beautifully without a multitude of layers that I’ve seen other art journalists use.
Thank you. This message really makes my day. I am so lucky to be able to use originals. It does lead to fastidious planning and maybe that is part of the reason for the (relative) restraint. Although I had a comment last week that allowed as how she found my pages too cluttered (!) so - guess all we can do is make our pages the way that talks to us and makes us happy. 😺

This book is amazing! I love the beautiful way you did each page. Where do you find such gorgeous bits to decorate pages with? I love vintage ephemera but it’s hard to find. I know the new owner of this book must be delighted with it. ❤

I just found your channel and I’m in love! I have been thinking about trying my hand it altered book art for so long and I have been chicken about it. But I am loving your content and binging your videos. Can I ask you a question? I gather that you sell your books. Do you ever have any problems with copyright or things of that nature? Just curious. I’ve read a little about it and I can’t seem to get a good answer.
Miss Cassie, you are in the right place and welcome. First, thank you for your kind words. Next, book altering can be a lot and my early advice is start out with a book that is not valuable (in money or in sentiment) and just jump in and learn by doing it right and learn by making mistakes. It really is the best way. Make two or three imperfect books and then build up. Here is a link to my altered book playlist and some stuff here may shorten the learning curve. PS- In art there is something called Fair Use that allows a maker to use established images (or music, etc.) if it makes something unique. Have a look online to find out more. Also, 99% of my images are in the public domain but otherwise, Fair Use.
