The bias was highlighted no more than last year when Luka scored 73 and the national nba media went into meltdown only days removed from celebrating media darling Embid's 70 point game v Spurs. In the eyes of people from ESPN Luka is destroying basketball.

It seems that the survey results are being evaluated incorrectly. When each person can give only one name for a category, the number of votes is different than how close the second-place player is to the first-place player. But hey, we're all sports fans for *our* team, so good analysis is unnecessary.

It matters because large amounts of people are influenced by what they say, so if a given fan doesn’t personally care what the national media says, they’re still right to be frustrated by it.

first he butchered the name of the director and I have to disagree. the first blade runner is a timeless classic, you can watch over and over again. on the second one I don’t get the vibes at all, it‘s ok movie, nice to look at. but wouldn’t watch it more than 1-2 time

Episode dedicated to crying about Luka not being proclaimed the best player or the MVP favorite after that horrific Finals performance lol
The team performance was horrific, but Luka? Game 1: 30 pts 10 rebs; game 2: 32-11-11 triple double; game 3: 27-6-6; Game 4: 29-5-5; Game 5: 28 pts 5 assists 12 rebounds. Those are not indicative of a horrible performance. But look at his teammates--the second highest scorer in game 1 for instance had 14 points. That's on Luka? You're just hating.

You look at game 1 for instance, Luka was getting guys open shots, like he does, and they were missing. That's Luka's fault? I cite his numbers--if you're going to call a 32 pt triple double a "horrible game," you're confused about what horrible means. Can you give me another player who did as much in the last playoffs? Of course there's a standard for a superstar, but his standard is higher than any other player, yet he's not the best? And trolls like you don't get to tell me how to be a fan. @@basedswoop but that's not why they lost. They held Boston below their playoff average & to Boston's lowest offense average in the post season. Luka getting blown by on a bum knee by smaller players was a small factor in the series but role players missing wide open shots was why they lost. When a team makes a surprise run to the finals, they are not going to get media love. Just Like when Miami made it to the finals as an 8 seed a few years back, they did not get national media love afterwards. It’s viewed as luck or getting hot at the right time. Mavs need to win at least 55 games and a few playoff rounds deep or get back to the NBA finals before they will start getting the love.
How will media love help the Mavs win a championship? They have gotten almost everything wrong about the west over the last 5 years. They've had Booker, Tatum, Shai, Ant, and now Wemby as all surpassing Luka even though Luka has had an unprecedented start to an NBA career and is on an all time trajectory. Media narratives haven't stopped Luka from selling a bunch of shoes or consistently being amongst the top jersey sellers. The mavs get plenty of national TV coverage and their arena is always sold out. The mavs need to close ranks and fight for a championship.
For the last few years excluding in part last season, if your team lost to the Mavericks, they lost to LD having an average or even good day. And they didn't just lose in those cases, often enough they just got destroyed by Luka while he smiled or talked trash to the beloved stars of the opposing team. I would assume that contributes to not liking him very much. Another thing is the idea of merits : I think the more you believe in success through hard work, the more you could get annoyed by a guy that just makes your team look bad, while having the impression that he doesn't even try or work out as hard as others do.

Luka, like Jokic, have endured unfair criticisms their whole career…the soft Euro stereotype started to be called out as xenophobic so it morphed into fat shaming in Luka’s case…’the face of the NBA’ is coded language for black American player and grew in usage once Jokic started dominating MVPs
