As a tumble weed farmer I would use caution that you don’t endanger the tumble weeds while goofing off in a dust devil. That’s their natural mating ritual.
In college I worked on the school’s golf course and saw one of those a couple fairways away and jumped on my cart and chased it. It’s surprising how much power they have.

It continued sweeping back and forth down the driveway then upon reaching the end of the driveway it lifted back up into the sky ! Another person was at the other end of the driveway and saw this happen then walked away scratching his head. God The Omniscient All Seeing Eye saw that I was going to sweep off the driveway and swept it off for me ! The driveway got swept off without me having to do anything !
first day at a rustic campsite at the slick rock state park moab utah in july. I had my white ford festiva parked under a juniper with the doors open for the breeze and my buddy steve and I were making peanut butter & jelly sandwiches with banana slices on our laps for a snack before a little mtb ride on that trail they have there. then..... I saw it come over the hill and living in michigan I couldn't believe my eyes, it was kinda just going by till it came right for us and went straight through the car! we both got sandblasted and our sandwiches got all messed up and there was even a little sandy beach on my passenger dashboard! we both got out of the car and I noticed in the fire ring the banana peel I chucked in there had already dried enough to burn; and it was then that I knew that it was time to watch out and be careful-

Typical wind speed in a dust devil is 45 mph, up to 60 mph. 45 mph is a very strong wind, 60 is like the beginning of a tornado.
