Welcome to Sample Friday’s, where every Friday I will take a sample and flip it in to a hot beat!
In the first video of the series, I sampled Bryan Ferry’s “Valentine”. The drums are mostly accenting the groove that is already present in the original song. Some techniques I used included side-chaining, parallel compression, and sample chopping based on the kicks and snares.
