Mr. Jim, I grew up in Iowa and Illinois and yep, we can definitely get those snows later. Even here in Indiana, we had a major storm middle of March a couple years ago. You know best.

Oh my, snow. When I lived in New York the weather did not cooperate either. St. Patrick’s Day snowstorms were not uncommon, and we did get snow in April. But by April things had warmed up enough that the snow didn’t last long. Connor doesn’t care about snow - he meows his wishes and knows his mind.

I live in Wisconsin and I never put my lawn ornaments or any plants outdoors before June 1st. Two years ago we had a very warm March and all the snow was gone and then we got over 2 feet of snow in April on Palm Sunday. Just goes to show that we can't go by when calendar says it's spring. We had snow ❄️ n the mountains of southern West Virginia all my life in April! We had redbud winter and even it would get cold when the blackberries bloomed in May. My grandmama always said the first of June was the only safe time to even plant certain veggies.
78 F Today here in Dallas. Planted our raised patio beds ( 2 weeks ago) with some onions, cherry tomatoes and herbs - sweet mint (yerba buena)...epasote (Mex herb) basil....and lettuce greens.......In the pots, Peppers (Jalapenos, serrano and sweet banana), rosemary. I believe our freezes and snow have stopped since the big chill last month........When I grew up in Milwaukee, I remember blizzards on Easter Sunday. Can't say I miss it !

What's gotten me here in upstate New York is the winds, yesterday we had 60 mph winds again. It took down trees & power lines all over the place. We had a couple weeks of this twice. We also had 5 hours of rain & thunderstorms before yesterday. I'm worried about tornadoes.
I know my grandfather would always say regardless of what the weather looked like or the farmers almanac indicated at times NEVER discount snow until after Easter. Then sometimes he would hold back a few back planting if Easter came early. I think animals have better instincts judging weather than their human counterparts. The raccoons that came to visit when the weather warmed up a bit were topping their tummies off for a few more weeks of winter & snow. They are all snuggled in their dens dreaming of warmer weather and unlimited visits with their friend Jim at his 24/7 diner 🍇🌭🍪🍟🍗. Take care Jim stay warm. Much love to you, Conner and Charlotte. 🙏

Its unreal the difference between the west coast and east coast of Canada. We have mild temperatures here in Vancouver, 3 days of snow this winter. Wish you were out here Jim. Its beautiful there though and quiet. Your family is there and real estate is ALOT cheaper

I have a cute little bunch of squirrels and birds that I feed year round. some of the squirrels come to my deck and eat peanuts from my hand. How is your sweet friend Foula ? I was in a snow shower on July 4th in the Wasatch Mountains in Utah. And my crocus and daffodils always get a nice new blanket for Easter.

One childhood memory I have is when it snowed in July on the Maine coast around 1960. Just a little. People quit saying ‘when it snows in July’. 😅
