  • A Canadian research team has been capturing, collaring and releasing fisher for a couple of years in Quebec. Due to issues with standard live cage traps last year, the decision was made switch to Comstock Live Cage Traps, a big plus for the project. Fisher are quick, strong and intelligent. These rugged Comstock 12x12x36 single powered door, live cage traps with the patented wire trigger, have provided unparalleled success. It all comes down to relativity, the ratio of catches to misses and losses. At last count the Canadians had captured 9 fisher and best yet, without a single miss, 100% success! When a trapper develops traps for his own use first, you know they are going to work. These traps have put profitability in Animal Damage Control, fur on the boards on the trapline, helped DIY homeowners solve their own nuisance wildlife problems, while putting smiles on the faces of researchers who are deeply invested in animal study projects.

I caught my first PA fisher this season in a Comstock I borrowed from a friend. Worked like a charm and I was super excited to see that big male fisher in the trap that morning!

Best traps on the market! I use different sizes of Comstock Custom traps almost daily, and you won't find a more reliable and predictable tool.

Very cool , traps are lightning fast for Cold climate issues. Fisher in a large corn crib pen with pine logs bows and cubby boxes. They're amazing.

The 12x12x36 seems to be the best, that's our model C12BD-36. It has a rear bait door. However, others are using our 9x11x36 successfully also. We hope you will use our retail store if you decide to purchase a Comstock Cage. www.comstockcustomcage.com. thanks for commenting!

Not sure. It was a study in Canada. I would think beaver meat, perhaps deer scraps

Sadly there are no Fishers left in Ohio. They were wiped out by trapping.

You may end up with fisher in Ohio yet as they are now in Pennsylvania. You might even have a few already.

They're all over western NY so I'm sure they're in Ohio. I see them in daytime in our yard. I've seen them attack and chase deer. I hear them screeching at night in our driveway, next to the chicken coop and under my bedroom window. Seriously loud.

@@JamesComstockCages Bought my first one! The 9x11x24 model. I understand why they cost what they do, this is a work of art! Super study and well made! Can't wait to catch my first critter in it. Got it from your site Jim.
