I've noticed even in this country that contractors are increasingly using Tractor/Trailer units more on sites like this, just looks a bit odd to put the pile their in the first place and then move it a couple of hundred yards. I presume there was something in the way like a building that had to be demolished first.

My question: why this company use a crawler loader, good machine naturally, but, for the same work, i think is better a wheel loader, that, at the same engine power, has more bucket capacity and lower usure of tyres , instead the undercarriage service is very very expensive, expecially CAT genuin with his SYSTEM ONE undercarriage.
You've right. They own several track loaders. They has only one or two 966s for regular sites. The three 982M are only for the High-Speed Railway project.

Global warming is making everything crazy. We didn't really have a winter, then we had a late winter, then it got hot quickly, now it's cooler and often kind of rainy... :) I think we may now be heading into normal spring-like weather. Hopefully it will hold for a bit and not get hot too fast.

Yes. This was a demolition site and that stuff was crushed concrete.

Das ist ein Abgasfilter wegen Stuttgart 21 ( Auflage der Bahn ).
