Love this couple.
They have always had the ability top choose fabulous music for their show routines and this is no exception. But even great music is pretty useless unless you have the musical understanding and artistic ability to portray it well and these two do that better than anyone I've ever seen. They continue to innovate and be uniquely creative. When they finally hang up their dance shoes they will leave a body of work which will live on for decades to come and which will inspire dancers possibly not even yet born. Such naturally gifted dancers and as a partnership truly astounding.
Strange music for a ball dance - Vladimir Vysockiy :) But Karina and Slavic can do magic of any song. They can make music by dance - without music. Love them absolutely.

@@andreanobre3605, If you speak in terms of telling stories through dance and being theatrical, freedom of artistic expression, musical interpretation then the answer imo is No! They are far more than just a good competition dancesport couple. This routine is spellbinding and the music is so powerful and emotive that I cant name anyone who can dance with the depth of feeling that would come close to creating what they do here. Salvo and Viktoria had the potential to achieve greatness, but they are no longer a partnership so we'll never know. Both super talented and I will be very interested in seeing what they will achieve in the future with their new partnerships

Andreia Nobre Sadly yes! They are now in their 40s and Slavik has suffered with hip problems in latter years. Karina has now become a mom, so I don't see another comeback. I am personally grateful for them reforming their partnership and giving us another opportunity to see their spectacular artistry. What they have created and have left the dance world with is some of the very best Latin show dance work that will remain a text for aspiring dancers for decades to come. It is heart breaking when couples like this hang up their shoes, but all things must come to an end.
@@joetesta8754 Yes,they aren't getting any younger.Many people think that Karina's work at Dancing with the Stars was a waste of her talent,do you agree?And I guess Slavik will continue to be a dance teacher from now on.
@@andreanobre3605 Depends how one wants to look at it, but Karina has forged a notable, successful career and has become something of a celebrity in the U.S and that's because of her exposure on DWTS so I don't catagorise that as a waste of her talents. She just used it in a different way which may not sit comfortably with some in danceport.
What is interesting is that despite them not winning a world pro title they are still one of the most loved, respected, idolised and immortalised dancesport couples of all times and when you talk about the all time great dance partnerships, their names are among the absolute best that's ever been. They didn't need a bucket load of titles to do that, they had their dancing that spoke for them and that's worth more to me than any number of titles. As I said previously S&K are far more than a just a competition dance couple and in many respects they have no pier. It will be a long time before we see another partnership that has the stunning level of comprehensive and versatile dance skills that they had. I modeled my own style on Slavik as have so many others over the years.
