I had 1 hour to fish so I decided to hit the local lake (Whonnock lake Mission BC) to catch some crappies on my BFS gear (ultralight baitcaster)

They have these docks built on every lake here in Vancouver, BC which is really nice.
The rain was very unexpected lol, I didn't want to cut short my fishing as I only went for an hour.

Thanks, I have been eyeing St Mary's Lake for smallmouth bass, hopefully sometime this year.
I have never been to Nanaimo though and when I was in Victoria a few years back I didn't fish much unfortunately due to a tight schedule, even though I was a few mins walk away from Langford lake.

@@crankbaiter_IndoCad The Island has lots of opportunity. If you ever make it to the Nanaimo area check out Holden Lake. Access is a little tough and you will need a canoe or a raft of some kind but there's very little people and lots of big smallies.

How far was it from the shore? I always thought it was just crappies that we can catch from shore at Whonnock!

Going to take spinners and spoons next time as the crappies will just about hit on every presentation when they are in the mood lol
