কলকাতা থেকে বৈষ্ণোদেবী যাত্রা করতে হলে ট্রেনে বা flight করে যেতে হবে Jammu তারপর সেখান থেকে কাটরা 45km,
Jammu থেকে Katra যাওয়ার জন্য station এর সামনে থেকে সরকারি বেসরকারী বাস পাওয়া যায়
ভাড়া ১০০ টাকা আর রাতে ১৫০/-.
Private Car ভাড়া - ১৪০০/- টাকা মতো

5200 ফুট উচ্চতায় অবস্থিত এই মন্দিরে যেতে গেলে 12 কিলোমিটার এর মতন পাহাড়ি রাস্তায় হেঁটে ওপর দিকে উঠতে হয় । হাঁটতে না চাইলে ঘোড়া , পালকি কিংবা হেলিকপ্টার এর ব্যবস্থা আছে । বাচ্চাদের জন্য আছে Pittu । যাত্রাপথ শুরু হয় Banganga ঘাট থেকে । অত্যাবশ্যকীয় কিছু জিনিসপত্র ছাড়া ওপরে কোন কিছুই নিয়ে না যাওয়ায় ভালো এতে সম্পুর্ন পথে হাটা সুবিধা হবে । Camera is not allowed.

Our Journey ---
Day 1 - Kolkata to Jammu by Train
Day 2 - Arrival Jammu then reach Katra at Night & Stay at hotel
Day 3 - Early morning we collected RFID card and started to Vaishnodevi and return to Katra at night & stay at the hotel.
Day 4 - We left Katra to Jammu then Srinagar.

But there is no direct connecting train from Kolkata to Katra - so our option is Jammu Tawi station….

Timings of Yatra Registration Counter - 5 am to 10 pm - Free of cost
Every single person needs to obtain the Yatri parchi (RFID) & it's validity 6hrs. that means you have to cross 1st checkpoint within 6hrs. after taking RFID card. You should not take it in advance.
Distance from Katra to Adhkuwari - approx 6 km via old route and approx 7.5 km via new route Tarakote marg.
Adhkuwari to Bhawan - approx 5.5 km via the battery car route via Sanjhichatt.

This journey is between Adhkuwari and Bhawan
There are 2 things:
A. They promote it for people who cannot walk or Senior citizen.
B. It is better that you have pre booking - they give priority for people who do online booking... www.maavaishno...
Get your yatra registration online & show at counter to avoid long que.
If you are planning to travel by helicopter you need to book in advance, it will take you to Sanjichatt and from there you will have to walk down to Bhawan - distance of 2.5 km. Camera is not allowed.
