Atty. Robredo is right. The demand of Professionals on mental health is really need in the Philippines. Don't ignore this situation because it is alarming. I am studying mental health here in Canada and there's a lot of factors of mental disorder. The government should research on this, make a plan and put money on it.

I agree with this. Mental health isnt taken as seriously in the Philippines as it should be. Those with mental health problems are treated as abnormal or crazy and instead of getting them help, they are avoided like the plague.

Madaming mga pinoy health worker na empleyo ng mental health facilities dito sa US especially din dito sa Texas. Di lang psychiatrist but nurses, physical-occupational therapist, behavioral health specialist at iba pa. Ang mga presyo ng gamot ay di biro na di kaya pondohan ng gobyerno. Maraming hospital "state hospital", rehab facilities at group-host home ang ginastusan hango sa pondo ng kalusugan at gobyerno. Kulang din ng psychiatrist sa US pero may mga nurse practitioner (doctorate level) na specialized sa psychiatry para makatulong. Epektibong approach pa din ay multidisciplinary -kasama pastor, dietitian, criminal justice professional, social worker at iba pa. Iba pa ang juvenile cases.

BBM should probably reach out to Robredo and allies and offer them government posts. BBM needs allies more than ever, as he is very vulnerable and weak against the very powerful Duterte clan, who not only have powerful political connections, money and resources but social media and many people on their side. A simple 'accident' would make pro-China VP Sara, Dutete's favorite, the new President, so let's hope the PSG is up to the task to protect the President. Note that BBM has been a thorn on China's side and has great interests in seeing BBM gets overthrown.

I don’t think we lack them, it’s just they’re too expensive for the average person. Imagine an initial consultation can start to 500 up to 1000. Then before they diagnose you, it’s P15,000. Only a select few can afford that.
If you think about supply and demand concept, the lower the supply makes them more expensive.
It's expensive because we have very few practitioners.
