Not all who wander are lost. That's one of my mottos. One day I will finally get back there and make my purchase. No hurry yet. There are still a few places available 🤪 The kitchen looks great. Keep up the good work.
Lovely job in keeping the integrity of the kitchen while freshening it up. My heart initially sank when you said you were going to 'brighten' it up (clearly I've been watching too many people on social media painting white paint over original features - not in Japan though thankfully!)
Thank you so much 😊 We would actually love to apply traditional shikkui plaster to the walls at some point. The only other changes we might make in the future is some rail spotlights over the sink and sanding and waxing the floors.
It's so nice to be within walking distance of at least a konbini, isn't it? Such a little thing but comes in super handy sometimes, especially during renovations.
Agreed, it was one of the selling points for us. Not as easy to find as people may think, a traditional kominka near a konbini. As you know, many are in very remote locations.
Well done. This looks great. People these days always do everything brand new whilst some simple tweaks like these can deliver results just as great at a much better budget
Thanks for your kind comment! We will make further improvements, but, for now, it's brighter and more inviting :) Do you have a kominka or old house you're restoring?

Thank you. It's a great statement, isn't it? Really speaks to me. Japan will be waiting whenever you are ready for you big adventure :)

@@NekoAshiJapan Maybe ask around, see if any of the neighbors knows about regluing the doors together, so they're nice and sturdy again?
@@FoxyfloofJumps Yes, great idea. There must be a way to reinforce them :)

I love those colours and accents too!
May I ask how much you guys paid for this house?
3.5 million JPY :)
Jealous of you guys -- you have a kitchen and bathroom with running water! ROFL
Haha I know!!! Very fortunate 😁
