Flying Amtrak Trains 125-150 MPH Since 5/28/22 (4K)

  • Several Amtrak groups I’m in had confirmed Acela Express trains will be running up to 150mph through the Princeton Junction area, 140-145mph through Jersey Av & Hamilton stations. The 140-150mph speed limit reaches north & south between County Interlocking at Jersey Av & Trenton station in NJ. This video also includes NJ Transit express trains, weekday deadheads & regular scheduled Amtrak trains. Enjoy, taken early June 2022

I was a signalman for Amtrak about 25 years ago On the NEC from Penn to Philly. If you think these trains look fast on video, in reality they're insanely faster than they appear here. When working on the tracks, or signals, the INSTANT you see a headlight 4 miles down the horizon, you literally have only a few seconds to get in the clear. Especially in the Princeton jct area. But look on the bright side, if you ever got hit by a 150 mph Acela, it would be quick and painless. You'd be vaporized instantly. Go to central jersey all you foamers if you've never seen these ground missiles in person. Worth the trip

What would really be nice if a line was developed for the entire United States Eastern seaboard. The United States Atlantic bullet line from Boston Massachusetts to Jacksonville Florida, stopping in one city in each state it travels through. You could move millions of americans up and down the entire United States Eastern seaboard with great comfort each year. Reaching speeds of up to 225 mph and not a ripple on your martinis. 4 to 6 hours by bullet would be better than 11.5 to 12.5 hours by car or 13 to 14 hours by EV. This would also put the United States of America on the list of top 5 fastest trains on earth. Far cry from maglev super train technology which reaches speeds of up to 375mph but better late than never. Hats off to the far more advanced countries of the far east and Europe. Highspeed bullet trains and maglev super train technology, the new american dream.....
