Why does it seem like bonus is getting held across multiple balls (unless it's so fast I don't see hold bonus getting re-lit each time)? And it holds both the previous bonus value and the multipliers so you don't have to get up to 4x again?
Without reviewing this old video for time stamps, I can say that the hold bonus carry thru you see IS the strategy. It can be achieved at throwing spikes AND as a matrix award. Also “collect bonus” should be exploited for another massive points grab after max multiplier and spinner millions are racked. And yes, hold bonus retains multiplier.
