@@Oram-77 Have you not played FF7 Rebirth? The soundtrack to this game is fantastic, don't get me wrong. I played through it twice just for the music, but Rebirth has every game in the past few years beat.
Korean games always had banger songs. It’s just that the games they were made for were shitty scammy mmos which prevented international exposure. Stellar Blade is a special game because it is literally the realization of a dream I had as a 12yr old Korean boy who got into console gaming with borderlands 2 and played the last of us the year after. As you might be aware with the popularity of LOL and StarCraft esports in Korea, you would know that Korea was not at all a console friendly market. Everyone went to Internet cafes and played such games or Lineage. We preferred competitive or online games and our culture allowed for greedy corporate micro transactions. As a 14-15 year old, having played these console games but also having played some amazing Korean online games with shady monetization and no story or substance, I always wondered, “why can’t the Korean gaming industry, which I know is capable as much as the western and Japanese market within its ability to match production quality, not creating story focused package games but only creating live service games?” The answer was simple, the higher ups did not allow it to happen since it was too “risky.” But I am pretty sure as much as I wanted those kinds of single player games made indigenously, the devs themselves must have yearned it more than I did. This game was permitted with its creation since the ones who were once devs on the relative bottom of the chain, the ones who had to create games corporate suits wanted, but still tried their best to put in as much of their own unique colors as possible (Blade and Soul for example) became independent from the 3Ns of the Korean gaming industry (Nexon,Netmarble,NCsoft) and they themselves became the decision makers. This game (and games like lies of p that preceded it) was essentially 20 plus years in its making. However the elements themselves were already prepared. We only needed the power to actually make the decisions. If you liked this game and the production quality and the music and the vibe (which I can proudly say feels distinctly Korean) I am happy to tell you that more Korean games like this in a AAA size will soon follow. Even though Stellar Blade required Japanese capital instead of Korean capital to get actualized, which I am certain would have affected the color of this game to an extent, the success of this game will open a new possibility in the Korean gaming industry as a whole, and will be proof to Korean capital owners that our way of making single player games and selling them both to the domestic and international market can and will sell, allowing the games that follow to be fully self sufficient of its creation within the Korean market which would bring out more of its unique colors.

@@ymx7947 Thank you for the candid reply. And no our industry will most likely not cave in to politically correct pressures for good or worse. Remember, Korea is the country currently pushing for international recognition and commoditization of actual people (idol groups) such as New Jeans and BTS. What is funny tho is that the Korean law’s parameters of CSAM or Child Sexual Abuse Material applies to fictional characters or created characters as well meaning if some illustrator decides to create nsfw drawings of a anime character doing lewd things in school uniforms that illustrator can be tried and punished for. LOL Korean government you allow real girls like New Jeans (one of the members were apparently 14 at the time) to do idol activities which is kinda sanctioning the commodification of such real minor girls (and when idols are commoditized they WILL get sexualized) but the Korean gov is not ok with people either creating or consuming content about completely fictional characters that aren’t real and punish them by law. Love it when its not bugged, my game is stuck to the old sad song b4 doing the solar tower in both wasteland and great desert, cant even appreciate the music of the game...
Would love that to happen to me honestly. I love the original wasteland theme. It just fits the dry wasteland so well. Having this blasting in the background while climbing the solar tower felt like a 10/10 immersion.
Director: We knew that the Great Desert and Wasteland required a lot of movement, so we tried to strike a balance that allowed us to run at supra-human speeds. I thought about adding a vehicle, but I didn't add it because I thought it would feel narrow. In conclusion, because satisfaction varies from person to person, we learned of the insufficiencies after watching users play after the launch.
This song reminds me a lot of Transistor, that one indie game by Supergiant games, the people who made Hades. It’s really nice, and I’m loving it but couldn’t help but notice the similarity between this song and the one from transistor (it’s been a while so i can’t remember the exact song from OST)

indeed, and because it's the best song in the game, you will only get to experience it on NG+ in the Wastelands after you activate the solar tower only once. Because once you leave the Wastelands for any reason and return back to continue playing; you won't ever hear that song playing again until you restart the game from the very beginning.
