    So good.............
I'm born and raised in Wisconsin and have retired recently in the capital, Madison,
an epi-center of mid-century modern architecture. I am "surrounded" by many and varied excellent residential, civic and commercial works within a few blocks, miles and a few hours. AND, as an added (for me) bonus, a life long fan of architecture.
One STUNNING example is the now Bradley Sigma Phi fraternity house designed by Louis Sullivan, in 1909 (famous Chicago based architect) at 102 N. Prospect located in the University Heights area adjacent to the UW-MADISON football stadium. In this same area are two other wonderful residences designed by FLW (1914) along with many other grand historic AND ultra contemporary homes (side by side) amongst fully mature tree lined rolling hills (Madison is quite sophisticated culturally, not Mac-mansion only enclaves). A few blocks away, adjacent to the UW-MADISON campus is Shorewood Hills, also a mature rolling hills area over looking the beautiful Lake Mendota.
There's an iconic Unitarian Universalist Church, also by FLW, some more FLW residences, and a complete range of substantial homes of all ages and styles, plus new, state of the art cutting-edge "builds".
Downtown is dominated by one of the most beautiful state capitol buildings in the country, overlooking the city.
    There are parks everywhere.
Look it up! I'll give you an architectural focused tour........
