    "You have to die a few times before you can really
    live."

    Charles Bukowski was one of kind and really we all are one of kind, many just don't know it. He figured it out late, but not too late. And all those experiences from his twisted childhood and dead end jobs, they provided the layers of manure needed to grow gardens of poetic words and storylines with thorn stemmed flowers of all colors.

      Yes he was a drunk, however his point of view was 'you don't understand me because you are sober'. I prefer the drunk commentator to the sober observer.

    I have a book of his short stories. Man what a mind that man had. Growing up my family struggled alot. Many of his stories hit home really hard. Ill tell you that man walked the walk and penned it so beautifully.

    Best breakdown of Bukowski ever. what you describe is why I love his work. I am a person who grew up seeing how terrible people are and that everyone will just go along. I used my status if elementary school kids have one, popularity, more fear because I fought kids all the time, fought my own friends to stop them from bullying other kids. Even back then it made me sick how a kid would get picked on and the other kids would take that as now it's our turn to pick on that kid. I had teachers physically assault me, to making up lies, me and my friend held the door on a teacher for a few seconds turned into we locked her in a closet, and we got in big trouble. You see how cowards can only play the victim and lie to win a situation. In 3rd grade the teachers called the cops on me for being a leader, "the other kids all follow you", well I'm older, due to having a birthday after the school year, not my fault you held me back when my birthday is only a few weeks after the school year starts. I recently ran into a middle school friend who reminded me of a situation with this teacher who picked on him relentlessly. The teacher brought in books and told us to come up and pick one, my friend went last, the teacher said I knew you'd pick that one, and I yelled "it was the only book left". As someone who stood against authority and bullying, you learn to live with the fact that you exist in a species of authority boot-licking cowards and bullies. You have to convince yourself to exist because if you don't that means nothing but cowards, bullies, and boot lickers are left. It feels great, while other people are like "I regret how I bullied", (added) "or not doing anything about it" I'm like I feel great about stopping kids from being bullied and making friends with them. These same people though are still bullying cowards to this day they just excuse it because they view adults differently than kids- because it's authorized of course.

    I had this type of experiences, but I used my energy to accomplish educational goals. My creativity wasn't held back by the name callings, or the mockery. Every time I experienced hardships I delved deeply into new thoughts, and my imagination helped me create new worlds filled with peace, and tranquility. I found peace in my mind. I found peace in my own creativity.

    I love the way you dig into the deeper message and, as you say “read between the lines”, of what Bukowski is saying. He was truly an outsider and his reality was reflected so perfectly in his writing. His ability to take the worst situations in life and turn them into funny, disturbing, and ultimately entertaining stories (and poetry no less), is amazing and encouraging.Great video!

    I was an amateur writer, I to the Beats, Kerouac, corson, Ferlinghetti, etc. But when I discovered him because of the movie Factotum starring Matt Dillon. I stop being lyrical, I stop living in the abstract and academic. I was straight bones truth with the poetic twist because of my previous work. I learned how to right with a new hand. And I will always respect the for that. Also, Don't try, DO........................

That our thoughts and feelings maybe replicating over and over again but yet we feel inwardly that we are adrift in a vast ocean with no land in sight. Be Real. Fight the good fight. @@PowerofThought_ Thanks so much!
      I realized that the main reason for doing this is not about the success but the inspiration I've been providing some people with my stories while helping others do the same as I shared the lessons & experiences through making videos to have a sense of meaningful purpose. Therefore, I’m planning to quit nursing to pursue youtube full time as there are lots of issues in our traditional health systems as these don’t align with my values. It’s a huge learning curve but I love helping people through making videos.
      Also, as part of my video creation progress, I’m switching to a better editing software and a camera so the learning curve is much higher and slows down the completion speed of my next videos so please hang on tight! I do appreciate your support and kind words! I am hoping that you can join me with this endless personal development journey! :)

    There is nothing, no object including that “object” we call the entire universe outside of you. Awareness alone is real and you know the body in front of you don’t you? It’s inert and you’re sentient and completely free. Charles Bukowski wrote about free souls. Well this is how you too can be free because in reality you already are.

    Being real is the rarest attribute for a human to posses on earth especially nowadays with plastic celebrities and endless air-brain influencers on social media and television. Im a singer-songwriter and I take after the "write about what you know" lyric philosophy because I want my work to be honest. I write about how insanely ass backwards "normal life" is to me and how I drink too much, not about living a life I dont live or know. I cant release and perform my music live if I dont feel that its 100% me. To be an artist, you cannot be afraid to pull out your soul in front of crowds and hold it high in the air for all to see.

    Bukowski did not live on the streets for ten years and he never gave up writing. That’s a myth people keep perpetuating. He referred to this period as the “ten year drunk,” but he was working at the Post Office and helping raise his daughter as little as he could.

  • @citizenenak
    @citizenenak ปีที่แล้ว +4

    All I'm doing is seeing as clearly as possible in the moment based on what's before us, not simply what I/you think personally. This thinking, a (problem when doing certain things but not a problem ever in and of itself) concept realizing it needing to be understood is a step closer to identifying the problem of our misidentification of things in our reality. You are mis identifying yourself with thoughts and emotions that are felt producing another thought called Me. Your kind of like a thread of ideas and emotions and thinking all day feeling what you feel with no understanding or ability to control it leads to a world wholly out of your control to be controlled by others/ideas and thoughts possibly. Both thoughts and emotions felt/known together are known to you as Me (that would be you), I. It's more accurately the I Am sensation or what is known as the I Am presence which is both understood/cognized as a thought and emotion. If you ever want to move the needle and actually realize the teachings of all the sages in every time, everywhere in all eternity then KNOW the gateway is self cognition in the moment Knowing you are present, full stop. From there you can begin the dynamic process of mis identifying your sense of self with those thoughts and emotions. The answer of you is inside you where God is or Jesus or Allah or any number of Hindu Gods fitting this realization along with Indigenous people and their cultural scaffolding that points to the same thing. And that's the strongest scaffolding there is, the kind bound to truth. The kind a nation built on lies picking and choosing by putting their thumb on the scale in various ways many known publicly. The Indigenous peoples contribution to our society via the structure in part put the seed of awakening inside it all the while it was killing it. That seed took root and has grown up within the larger idea of what we call America, a democracy that does not exist but is full of trappings, as has been explained. I Am is all that matters as you do anything. Nothing more nothing less.
    Thoughts about this topic.
    Simply go through this again without the words and stick to the moment in your head, self cognizant of the moment at hand and you're on track my friend. Thinking is where our sense of self currently lays for the vast majority of us, it's both thinking and emotion coupled together in the moment with your attention. That's the ingredients that have worn a path in our brains as prominently similar to the path the Colorado River cut into the desert floor. It's hard to see beyond the canyon walls. If you can cognize yourself during the moment (its the only way) you can exist in the mind of God, the I Am. This state void of your thoughts and emotions with your self is true freedom. The problems with and of our continuous thought, we bring a host of ideas, thoughts, emotions just waiting to burst into your awareness and it can be overcome. Start by Being here now, recognize the power of now and know that now is the clearest most licid place to recognize a different perspective/realization. It wont happen elsewhere by much measure ultimately, ultimately there is no measure (Jiddu Krishnamurti, a godly man)
    It's the word God that will hang up many people. It evokes strong emotion which just is, and again that evoked emotion is coupled with, thinking thought in time (in memory), or out of time (the moment realized/ thinking in the present with your attention their present).
    I just realized, to Be Here Now as its exercised is a view so expansive it includes the knowing of, you don't know what you don't know, as a primary component to a realized state, in that every individuation by definition is ignorant of full truth and has a measure of reality, not the whole thing.
    Its a thought and emotion that appears to more fully represent what could be described as freedom. A thought (freedom) coupled to an emotion (mentally cognized/bodily felt) has an enormously potent effect on us at ground zero, personally, inwardly, so much so we are blinded by its simplicity. Ive laid out its simplicity. Move forward open to everything and see how it can't touch you, unless you bear allegiance to another idea outside I Am. Because that would be in thought and ultimate Truth isn't found in thought. If someone denies this they aren't clear. If someone doesn't understand this then you just need to re-visit I Am....I Am....I Am....I Am.... anyone can understand this. The problem with this is someone has to want to know the true state of reality. To understand the trie state of reality you have to know the environment you sit in and its nature by some measure. Its as if YOU sit and read these words, and reality isn't what it appears right here now but it can be explained in clear lucid terms, terms current spiritual teachers couldnt improve upon. I know, its what's there. They see it to. Enough of them though. There are many many people out there who are teaching this very thing in their context with the audience they may or may not perceive to some degree. The last thing we need is another ass hole yelling people what to think. The observer within may start to show itself within you. Heads up, its a more awake aware petfect you. Let go of those thoughts and see that there's thoughts, emotions, something that knows this. Square that truth with what you're thoughts tell you as you attempt to identify yourself inwardly and a clear understanding of what you see may not match. This is misperception persisting. Im just saying that when you're here now, I Am here, get it, its the I Am state, the state we all share as one. Its not an opinion, its a fact. And it isn't the dude writing this. He's just a citizen that speaks from the perspective of a citizen. A citizen that is tired of seeing my fellow citizens trapped by this seeming phenomenon. Things are not right and haven't been for a very long time. Its time to change that. And to change this state its the same idea/teachings of the sages from time immemorial. But again we don't realize how fully polarized and trapped we are by thoughts of people who deliberately took your allegiance unbenonced to you. Things are not truly as bad as they appear to everyone but as a citizen I have the realization of what it means to be a citizen. And it appears nobody else does to any real degree either. You cannot deny that.
    Let me tell you about the nature of a citizen. A citizen is someone void of their personal selves as it directly relates to other citizens. It respects its fellow citizens boundaries recognizing it to carries personal feelings, beliefs, family, employment and so on and its a righteous course of action. So any action less than that respect commanded by a healthy democracy/citizen would be un democratic. It's simply one thought or ideology imposing itself on another. A healthy democracy can thrive lurching forward if both sides were serving the people. Were in reverse. True story. We have never been a healthy functioning democracy, not one moment. To form a more perfect union is to say we are not there yet. We cant even seem to abstract ourselves enough to fill the role, the only role asked of us if we're to have a healthy democracy via a healthy citizen via a healthy individuated experience recognizing all this for what it is. Be Here Now. I Am...I Am... I Am....I Am......I Am...I Am.. remember you reading this is in your mind and only your mind. The thought I Am could be understood through the lense of a radio dialing in the station I Am..I Am... I Am...like the thoughts intruding while sitting up straight with the intention of not moving. Many thoughts intrude in you during that state. There is opportunity that state to be the witness of the intruding emotional thoughts. IAm...I Am...24/7...I Am...

    The truth in the oxymoronic

  • @Misserbi
    @Misserbi ปีที่แล้ว

    He was ethnically inclined and thought a German princess would always stay waiting in the wings. That is why his father beat him and made him cut the grass perfectly. Ego. That is why he never fought for any woman he loved and instead mocked them. He used creative outlets to let out his truths but the part where he stands up for honor and the right thing -- absent. Look at the movie "Factotum." His parents are disappointed in him and at the scene at the horse track he did not know the girl he was carrying around with him meant "no man" between them when he thought he could scurry away with her. You don't need to physically assault someone to get a point across. That was an insult that someone would not respect his place (newspapers on the seats) and would say it was a perogative to sit in the cheap seats making half a million a year? The girl knew she was being fooled.

    He saw society stupidly losing itself by being cynnical, fake and boring just for the sake of the money, whilst it would just take it to be more human and true and we would all be happy people. He perhaps would ve liked to be among other people and sober, but in a different society and with other people. He probably tried but didn't manage to fit in this society 'cos he felt out of place in a world that was so far from his heart

    Millions of people see in the same incisive way Bukowski did, it's nothing unusual, What is unusual, or lucky, is that he got published...................I wonder why that is!!!?

    Dont try anymore. Sign on, get disability money for free, buy your daily booze and food. Then try your hardest to tell, drunk and through the night. But not everyone is a poet.

    Overly cynical underachieving lazy person. His arrogance caused him to think that everyone else was unaware of these things ? We’re just trying to make it boss, get to work or go drown your weakness away unit you die alone.

      Achieved enough to have you not only watch, but comment on a video analysis over him. Arrogant, sure I won't refute that, but he wasn't intrinsically wrong with his assessment of society. If anything, that perception has become more apparent now more than when he was writing.
      Also, he might have died "alone" but he was married when he passed.
