When it started, I was not sure what was going on, especially with the black face. As the movie continued I appreciated the honesty and transparency of the mother and daughter depicted in this movie because it shows the biases that can be found in interracial marriages globally because of a person's skin tone. It also brought out that if a person overlook those biases and focus on the good, they are able to make a difference in the community instead of taking it personal. Great movie!

I think the Black Face was absolutely ridiculous, racist and uncalled for. The movie would have been so much better without, I don’t know if they were attempting a comedic effect with it” but there was nothing amusing about it, it was not even believable. I was actually very put off at the part where they were eating, the black face doesn't concern me but that part where the African girl behaved like she was not properly trained ticked me off so much. Yes, but Asians are really unfamiliar with many of these concepts. In China, people easily follow you around, touch you, and stop you to try to know more about you. I had once and long ago seen Korean featuring blacks in some of their dramas, but never for once Chinese , I was so surprised when I saw this , more like shocked but in a good way . I had once and long ago seen Korean featuring blacks in some of their dramas, but never for once Chinese , I was so surprised when I saw this , more like shocked but in a good way . And the drama wasn’t so bad , I love Chinese movies /dramas , I see them every time with the hope of visiting china one day , kinda worried Chinese might have a thing for featuring blacks in their movies, watching this movie today , though it’s just a movie , but I’m kinda relieved and pleased about it. Rooting for more of this!

12 minutes in and this is so funny. As an African person who has lived in China for almost 20 years, the few scenes I have watched so far are very relatable. Only , the wedding without the African parents consent is highly unlikely /

Listen I am a black woman and it never surprises me that black people coming from the cradle of Life hard-working we can learn any language the whole world copy is but the haters and nobody wants us in their family and all the things that we have to be put up with and they're doing us a favor I appreciate you trying to make this more like a K-pop drama vs and stuff but you really need a black person's point of view in this and I'm wondering how long to the world thinks that we are supposed to tolerate this like oh we supposed to be so happy in the other ways to us do you understand the stigma with black people marry outside their race do you know the hell that our family gives us it is not celebrated it's like you joining forces with the colonizers the colonizers who colonized other people who still want to look down upon you when we choose and we judge people on the actual character of themselves
