    Very fine report from one who has followed this case from its onset in 2005. I have viewed many podcasts and videos. This one does a nice job of listing/reviewing possibilities. IMO this was a crime of a murder-for-hire by an interested party/parties and carried out by many folks. Multiple hands were needed to kidnap two adults and dispose of their bodies + a nicely sized truck. Truck was not buried in water but was disassembled by professionals---likely one of the many Philly chop shops. Adventures with Purpose also does great work---just love 'em! Lastly---to answer the question regarding how their plans/locations were known---IMO the perpetrator(s) had them followed. More likely, Imbo was the target and she was discreetly followed until the right moment presented itself. Petrone was just "collateral damage." They were likely allowed to get into truck and drive away for a time. When they reached a relatively secluded and dark place---the killers pounced and acted quickly. There had to be at least two perps in their own vehicle. They followed the couple; overtook and overpowered them. Perps killed couple; disposed of bodies and his truck very discreetly. They had to have their own vehicle and there had to have been at least two killers. Who was mastermind? The party(ies) who benefited, of course.

      Pretty sure they’re in the water somewhere. If they were getting car jacked I seriously doubt the people responsible wanted to deal with a double murder and disposal of bodies.

      The FBI feels they were victims of murder for hire. That's not a carjacking.

    Makes one wonder exactly what kind of life, a secret life, would lead to such a bizarre ending. Doing drugs can't explain it.

    It seems the most likely scenarios are murder for hire or accident. Rather odd that the answer is likely the most elaborate or most pedestrian of options when normally the truth tends to land in the center.

    • @DanielMulloy-bg6gw

      It seems murder for hire is at play here. Driving off the road Into a body of water doesn't really work in downtown Philadelphia. Sad story, I've lived off of South Street all of my adult life. There is a.parking lot one half block from where Abelene once operated, it would seem the most likely place for Richard to park... a killer or killers could have easily been laying in wait and objected them right there, even with people around. That time of night and the cold weather would have made it quite quiet. This was well planned.

    • @Mr-gg8ek
      @Mr-gg8ek ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ericsierra-franco7802 The fact their car has never been found makes it much MORE likely that it was an accident. There have been many mysterious person + car disappearances recently solved that it turned out they had just driven into a body of water. Again, this case is either really elaborate or really pedestrian.

  • @cabooseabs6864
    @cabooseabs6864 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Obviously foul play is the most likely answer, but is it possible their truck went into a body of water due to an accident? A number of cases where a person and a car disappeared for decades have been found recently.

    na there ain't a lot of chimneys bro XD I would know, that's fancy shit over here. And wow I used to go to Abilene's back then. My friend's brother had a well known local band Townhall that would play there. Other crazy stories from that place as well XDD. Brings back memories, but yeah, too bad for these folks. Gut says he got mixed up with the wrong gal. Edit: no souvenir shops really back then, more like head shops, sexy stores, knock off boutiques, Jim's steaks, an FYE, sneaker and clothing stores, mammoth bar, tattooed moms, other bars.

    It is now March 2023 and the 18th anniversary of their disappearance has passed. Adventures with Purpose just uploaded some recent videos, as they continued their search in a few more nearby bodies of water. Still no results but at least we are eliminating more possibilities. IMO this is still a murder for hire with disposal by chop shop.

    Just because the police, or some portion of the police, suspect that this was a murder for hire, does not necessarily make it so. I don't know the details of where their house was, and therefore their route home that night, but them veering off the road into a body of water seems fairly likely. After all, of the 11 people that search group have found, some of them had potential murder investigated and that turned out not to be the case.
