    Dude, I LOVE when you hit us with the TRUTH! Too many moto content creators get comped and can't give REAL, honest opinions about how these things arrive and the difficulty for the layman to install. It's great to get a refreshing perspective on it. Not saying to always put people on blast, but when it's necessary, I'm glad you do!

    Please don’t censor your rants. Especially if you pay out of pocket. They already overcharge Ducati owners , the least they could do is build it for you. As always a great video.

    Sucks how difficult the install was... However, next to the clear clutch the black looks trick!

    Bought for my fireblade and it was easy install, the brake switch you need to install a pressure switch.

  • @WITHTEETH1
    @WITHTEETH1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I had Driven TT rear sets for my old Panigale and lost the rear brake light was a tiny bummer but if you are a good experienced rider not a total rookie you use the front and rear brakes in tandem therefore never really losing the tail light. Unless your on the race track....Also I had to use red lock tight on all of the bolts, used blue to begin with and it fell apart while I was riding CaliMoto do these rear sets allow you to lower the feet riding position? Or do you know of one that does? Great vid as always!

    I'm not connected or affiliated with Bonamici Racing in any way, I want to say that almost every aftermarket parts brand put a note on their instructions/manual saying that the parts are for racing use only.

  • @gz4789
    @gz4789 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    No rear brake switch, no go for me...You can probably add a pressure switch to keep rear brake light action. I've only used Sato rear sets on my bikes, so I'll probably stick with them for the SFV4s.

    Lose the rear switch brake light?! No way, not going there dude! That alone should DQ these for use. Added to this the ambiguous nature of the installation instructions not for me. PS. that instruction thing is not uncommon as the manufacturers go "international" and use pictures/drawings/hieroglyphics to compensate for not having to translate things into several dozen languages......
    But these are expensive. Gotta say again, NO REAR BRAKE LIGHT!

    • @GareyCooperdude
      @GareyCooperdude 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CaliMotoTV Hmm, not sure I'd call it minor actually. I am sure the front brake will still activate the rear light but I generally stop heavily with the front and then coast in to the stop on the rear brake. And at a light or stop sign I generally keep the rear brake activated.....with the bike usually in neutral if the stop is long enough. So for me in this instance, no go. Thanks for the review dude!

  • @Dankeller69
    @Dankeller69 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I was looking at these for my Tuono a while ago and i emailed reactive-parts in uk and they said you cant use the OEM switch you would have to use an aftermarket switch, same as you would for older lightech rear sets.Also Italian instructions are the worst in any product..... not just motorcycle products.

  • @brilliantspeedsuperbikes
    @brilliantspeedsuperbikes 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I agree. Bonamici takes the cake when it comes to crappy diagrams and directions. It's the same problem with the brake side on the 2021 Aprilia RSV4. Diagrams don't make sense and the part list is simply a list with part numbers but not description. Complete BS. It's the last time I'm buying Bonamici rearsets.

    Well I got the Bonamici rear sets this week and I've been 3 hours now . It is a fucking joke . Even the bolts on list are not right . If can't get it sorted with a fresh head tomorrow there going back . I felt your pain mate , what is that instruction page all about ,not in order ,parts not number and bolts not the right size . Poor , I'm very disappointed so far .

      @@CaliMotoTV well after a night sleep and another go I managed to get it together . Still not put on bike yet but I'm pretty confident I've got everything where it should be , I suppose in a few weeks of using them and hopefully being happy I'll forget the pain and stress 😉. Cheers mate.

  • @luddite6239
    @luddite6239 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I share your pain! Good looking rearsets and nicely machined but seriously let down by the incorrect hardware and confusing/inadequate instructions. On the bright side, the brake light problem is easily solved - just fit a pressure switch banjo with a double-length banjo bolt. That's what I have on my Monster and it works a treat. The pressure switches are maintenance free and more reliable than the OE mechanical one, so you can look on it as an upgrade! Note that, if you fit the pressure switch, you'll probably have to fit a suitable electrical connector and bleed the rear brake after fitting. It's definitely worth the effort though.

    • @luddite6239
      @luddite6239 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you do go down the pressure switch route, just make sure your replacement banjo bolt has the correct thread pitch. I believe all Brembo master cylinders are M10 x 1.00mm not the more common M10 x 1.25mm that the Japanese factories use. These parts aren't expensive and I'd expect you to spend around $30 for everything. (Don't forget you'll also need three copper washers for the two banjos.)

    • @luddite6239
      @luddite6239 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just looked on the Bonamici website and they actually list a pressure switch (they call it a 'hydrostop') pre-wired for the V4 Streetfighter. The part no. is HDC02. I don't know the price, but might be worth checking with your supplier - it would save you the rewiring and also the longer banjo bolt.

    Why don’t you return them? It’s really unacceptable I think that there is no rear break light anymore and the installation instructions are from another rearset/ another bike. And sorry to say: I’m not impressed how it looks. I thing the original parts look better and are better engineered by Ducati. Why not powder coat the original sets black?

  • @SUPERFLUID88

    Great video. Honest and real. Because I researched a lot on various Ducati forums before deciding on the excellent Gilles rearsets for my V4S Pani I was vaguely aware that people had problems fitting the Bonamicis. And that you need to purchase a solution for the brake light switch - which is poor. But this video is the best explanation yet of just how bad the nightmare is. The ill-fitting too-short bolts are unacceptable at this price point. And instructions a disgrace. Still, they do look nice. But if you want black rearsets then Giamoto might be a good alternative. Check this out...
