    Tbh got emotional seeing you studying next to your husband. I remember the nights where I would have your 'study with me' videos with Candy or Ellie on screen. 💕

    I really do hope you get into hospital admin. Having actual residency trained physicians other than clueless MBAs with no ties to medicine may just be the only thing that may save healthcare in the US.

    I know there’s no down time but make sure to take a trip out of the city Jamie! Northern California is gorgeous! Burney falls, Mendocino, Lake Tahoe, even the Redwood forest. I hope you enjoy it here way on the other side of the country ❤

    So happy for your transition. Found you during grad school and I even used your study methods during work lol. It'll be nice for you to be near family too! Also, you could buy a zone heating and cooling system for baby's room. There's a fan feature so it won't cool too much. Or you could keep it in the living room and it can get really cold. Worked great for my small apt.

    First Congratulations for your new job and baby! and Good luck. but I was very disappointed that you left your cat, Ellie, behind. Im sure you found her a good home( im hoping) , but it still is sad, she was a part of your family and she considered you home. This wasn't something I was thinking you'd do. it just bothered me.

    • @buensulg
      @buensulg 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      So she got rid of Ellie, I would have never imagined she'd be the type of person who does that...that poor cat keeps getting rehomed, I hope she at least found her a good home, she could at least be a grown up and address it in a video

    • @shve9858
      @shve9858 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@buensulg agreed. That’s what bugged me more. She has good history with having a previous cat , candy, and it was the sweetest thing and then she got Ellie , but the fact that Ellie was just left behind really really bothered me. I feel bad for that cat, she probably thought @thestrivetofit is her family and her home. It’s just disappointing and sad that she left the cat behind. Almost feels like the cat was just a temporary fix till the baby arrives and once he did , the cat is no longer needed

    • @Scarlet-Enchantress
      @Scarlet-Enchantress 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      As a person who had to give up my cat you don’t know the reasons why someone needs to rehome their cat. It’s also about the owner too. I can’t stand when pet owners go after the owner and it’s not like they’re even asking why, and there’s probably a good reason why, she gave up her cat. And if she did, she most likely rehomed her to stellar people. It’s stuff that happens; it doesn’t make a person any less unless they just released the animal into the wild

      You are totally projecting.
      Clinical practice is very emotionally and physically consuming. Most er doctors and other specialties that deal with difficult cases and people experience this fatigue after a couple of years and realize clinical practice is not the do all and end all. It's amazing to be able to pursue other avenues as well and maybe find a path with more family time or better pay or just different challenges.

      @@MargotHypnos it's... Not a competition. There certainly are lots of jobs that are more challenging than others. I don't really understand what your comment has to do with this physicians choices in life. You are literally explaining her job to her while being in an entirely different field. I understand it's tough but it tough for many professions, from er doctor to teacher. And also you are belittling me not having any idea what my own job is.
