@@jroc1919 That's not "formal". That's "learning on the job". There's a massive difference between the two. Namely financial. You pay to have to first. You get paid on the second.
Yep, he's what one calls a natural, a born actor. As far as acting is concerned, I do believe that the best ones require no formal training. For a very simple reason: Acting is basically mirror work, it's a work of mirror like empathy. Some people are just natural chameleonic empaths, born mirrors, as it's very easy for them to channel any kind of energy, and make any story their own, that's what makes an actor. If you have to acquire it through training you don't have it, and you can't actually acquire it. You can be born with it and perfect it with formal training, but if you are not born a mirror, there is just no amount of formal training that can make you into one. Most people in the industry are either phonies or people who have the inclination but are just trying; Bale is one of the very few who was actually born with the gift, a born mirror, an empath of the deepest most connected order. He is every person, and every person is him, he feels everybody like it is him, because it is. Deeply connected to the source of everything born mirrors are. That is not something that you can acquire through any sort of training, formal or otherwise. You are either born with it, or you're not. It's a channeling job, actors are mediums, mirrors and mediums, all artists are.

Harry Melling and Christian Bale, star as a great partnership in this really emotive, chilling and tense thriller. With eerily ghostly music, superb cast and a twisted story with an unexpected ending. Costumes, setting and cinematography are on point. Absolutely fantastic. Robert Duvall at 91 still shows he has got what it takes and delivers effortlessly. Is it a witch hunt? Is it revenge, a cover up, or satanic cult practices? Highly recommend watching. And as for Gillian Anderson, Timothy Spall et La these guys are always in their element no matter the story or characters they play. True A Listers all of them, and bravo to their dedication to Film. This particular story is played with such a beautiful quiet strength. I’d love to see Gillian playing Susan in my novel Soft in Flowers. I’m sure she personifies the character really well.
Love seeing Scott Cooper continuing down the horror path
I love the fact that bale has no formal training as an actor. Just incredible. Pure talent.
@@jroc1919 That's not "formal". That's "learning on the job".
There's a massive difference between the two. Namely financial.
You pay to have to first. You get paid on the second.
He’s like a child prodigy, pure talent.
Looks captivating. I love Christian Bale I think he's one of the best actors out there, completely versatile. I'm also glad to see that Harry Melling seems to have a very important role, he's really talented! I saw him in The Queen's Gambit and in The Devil All The Time (GREAT movie and it's so underrated). He derserves more recognition. I can't wait to see this movie, I really like this kind of dark, gloomy ambience. The aesthetic of this just looks gorgeous and the plot seems interesting as well. I bet they worked hard on this one, I'm looking forward to watch this :)
Crazy to think that Dudley is not only playing more serious roles than his Harry Potter co-stars, he's also a better actor.
Not so crazy when you realize that Harry Melling attended drama school, and is a classically trained actor now. Which is why he is objectively the best actor of the “Harry Potter” kids.
I haven't seen any of his other stuff, but he killed it in Buster Scruggs.
Brilliant movie. Those looking for a decent murder-mystery movie should watch this.
Wow this looks so cool! Harry Melling was great in The Devil All The Time on Netflix. And Christian Bale is great in literally every role I’ve seen him play. Incredible actors. Can’t wait to see this! The cinematography looks beautiful!
I just watched Amsterdam, and that was one of the finest performances Christian Bale has given yet. He's still the best actor in the game.
Such a breath of fresh air. Love the stark cold imagery, time period, Gothic style. Harry Melling is riveting. Great casting for Poe.
excited to see more of harry melling. could definitely see him becoming a big name, and not just for his older roles
for me i don't watch racist movies that excluding black people and you should do the same it 2023 time to change
@@user-tl8dq4cu8c if that’s all you care about, go watch willow or the rings of power. you can’t expect the cast of every movie to look like the population of modern los angeles.
@@user-tl8dq4cu8c lol sounds like your the racist. You hate seeing white people in movies, we get it
@@user-tl8dq4cu8c that's the dumbest think I've read in my entire life

I got to say, Harry Melling seems to be doing it right in regards to becoming one of the great character actors of our time.
i was pleasantly surprised to see Dudley back on the screen :D
I can’t even begin to describe my elation with this. Bale. Poe. Gothic, macabre setting. I’ll go on record and say this will be one of my favorite films of all time.
The cinematography alone it's worth a watch
Agreed. And great actors. I almost couldn't see Gillian Anderson.
If Christian Bale accepted to be in this movie, it has to be a great movie, and judging by the trailer, it is.
Well he also accepted to be in "Love and thunder". I quite enjoyed this movie tho
Sorry but it isn't a great movie. Even Bale's good performance can't help such a slow and boring film
He’s friends with the director Scott Cooper, they’ve made films together and they’ve always been excellent.
how disappointed are you after the watch ? :)
Harry Melling is such an intriguing actor! I love everything he's done and his range is phenomenal.
Doesn't matter if the movie is good or bad Christian Bale never disappoint in his performance
Trailers from Netflix come out more often than I do on the street ...
Harry Melling...wow...👏👏👏👏its like he isnt acting but living...what a performance..enchanting
It's amazing how Christian Bale has evolved with every new film. For some reason I believe his best movies are yet to come.....
Not a bad Netflix film “The Pale Blue Eye” held my interest the entire film. Well done to all involved!
I must say , the acting was something else that I had never witnessed somewhere else.
A must watch no matter the movie preference .
With enough patience a suspect will offer. And oh boy! We didn't see it coming.
The twist got me. I wasn't expecting it. Good movie. Well acted. Im going to watch it again knowing the twist.
The book is incredible. I would also suggest Matthew Pearle’s “The Poe Shadow,” Jason Martin’s “Witches in the Morgue,” and Harold Schechter’s “The Tell-Tale Corpse.”
I was going to watch this for the cast alone, but having seen what they’re going for here, this looks like it checks all the boxes for me. Can’t wait to check it out.
it makes me happy that Harry Melling is in so many awesome things right now.
In my opinion underrated movie. What a fabulous acting, not only from the Bale side but even from Melling. Well done! Minimum vote 8/10. Very good crime/mystery movie, horror not at all really. Worth watching definitely.
Bale is one of the few actors that into out of my way to watch his movies. The man rarely misses. I mean if he even misses
Excellent! Lot's of twists, turns, surprise ending!! A must watch thriller! Great casting!
Finally Netflix! a fantastic movie. More like this please.
This looks amazing and Christian Bale makes it ever better. I can't wait to watch it!
Why is every Scott Cooper/Christian Bale project so criminally underrated?! This movie and Out of the Furnace are 2 amazing movies. They’re not perfect but defiantly worth _some_ hype 🤔
He deserves the Oscar. Is the most versatile actor in the actual industry and he has always bring a powerful interpretation.
He won
Classic movie 🍿 worth the watch Netflix did something dope
Another piece of cinematic artwork. Wonderful performances with Christian Bale leading the charge with twists and turns at every corner leading right down to the suspenseful last half hour. Oh, the surprises that await first-time viewers, I envy you!!!!!!!
Love the atmosphere and the setting of this. Reminds me of Taboo... shame that there was no second season.
Wow--the credits at the end are maybe the most exciting part of this great trailer--what a line-up!

Melling and Bale deserve Oscars for their roles here. Since Harry Potter movies, Melling has become an outstanding actor, especially his poetic role in The Ballad Of Buster Scraggs movie, and he just gets better and better. Superb actor.
If you wanna see more photos of “West Point” from the film, they filmed at Westminster College, PA.
One of those times when I'm glad I'm already subscribed to Netflix so I won't miss it. Regardless of what some folks say they always manage to keep me entertained with good shows.
Their shows are often good but their movies until very recently are usually hit or miss. They're stepping up the game though.
@@mikexxxmilly what shows exactly? i dont remember single show that was good in last 2 years. They should focus more on making good content and less lgbtq propaganda
