- #RohitShetty is basking in the success of his latest movie #Sooryavanshi. The #AkshayKumar, #KatrinaKaif -starrer hit theatres on 5 November and has broken box office records in a short time.
Speaking to The Quint, the filmmaker said it was difficult to hold on to the movie, especially when there were other offers. Sooryavanshi was supposed to release last year, but kept getting delayed owing to the COVID pandemic.

Lotiya Pathan is one of my favourite characters and villain of Tezaab. Obviously Lotiya Pathan was a Muslim, but it was not a problem when Tezaab was released, because the environment was not toxic, ie people were not propagating that every Muslim is a Lotiya Pathan. But today Muslims are being called terrorist if they don't toe the line they are being asked to toe. What his film is doing is reinstating the false belief that Muslims are terrorists. Nobody criticised N Chandra for Lotiya Pathan but Rohit Shetty must be criticised because he is encouraging a climate that is hostile to Muslims.

Name any other Indian director who can pull off an action comedy movie. He is the only one doing it rn and is excelling at it. His films are always high on energy and the only director I have come across who can give his films the MASS feeling and imo this kind of a vision is really hard to have. You will always get to hear laughter, claps, whistles and comments in the cinema hall. Apart from this, i don't think there's any other director who has such a close bond with the crew he works with, including all the actors and his whole team as well.

Rohit Shetty is just a basic masala film director and that's it. His films aren't above average in any way. Even his action sequences lack the nuance. Any Michael Bay film has better action than his best action sequences.

I have no clue what's in the film but if police brutality is being normalized then it's not something to be appreciated. Normalizing police brutality can not be justified by the good work they do. Police should be portrayed as disciplined, educated, well-spoken, non corrupt officers with good character not some goon wearing a uniform. You can't say he will behave like a goon or mistreat you because he is standing whole day on the road in the sun. That's not something civilians ask for. Definitely their efforts should be appreciated but no one can get a clean chit for harassing anyone.
