Fun day trying to catch come trout with a lot of people. School is currently on break so there was a lot of people fishing. When I got there I was fishing at the beginning of the lake with no luck for 45 mins. Then decided to move over next to the fishing pier. Saw someone catch one and went to see if anyone else caught fish. I lost one fish in this spot but caught one. Then went on the pier to see if there was any fish there. There was definitely a school of trout there but the were picky on what they wanted to eat. After fishing for awhile I finally caught another which was my last fish I caught. One key thing about fishing trout with lures is to have a variety of colors to find the right one that the trout are willing to commit too. I was using Notorious Custom Jigs in a Pumpkin/Grasshopper color and that was the key color because other people caught fish on the same color. So as always keep trying and eventually one will bite.

Haha. The trout are probably gone. There was too many people fishing Wednesday and Thursday.
@@SimplyDopeK20 Well saw plenty of fish on Friday but they didn't want bite anything. The easier ones probably all got taken on Wensday
@@natesal5037 ohh ok. Something that has been working for me when the fish are finicky is a marabou jig in black or brown. It's a more natural presentation and sometimes they go for it.

Thanks man. It seem tough for most people. I like to add scent to my mini jigs. Try garlic/crawl scent next time.

Hi, recently I've been trying to fish with jigs after seeing your videos and recently been fishing the lakes in SD, I was curious to know a couple things and that is how you rig your setup. Is it braid to leader via FG knot or alberto knot or do you use a swivel with weights? Appreciate your videos, keep up the good work! Thanks!
Yes. 3-5lb braid to 2-4lb Fluorocarbon leader. I like to use a modify albright knot th-cam.com/video/3U4O_MlFGs0/w-d-xo.html
For jigs, I mainly use 1/32oz jig heads. BassProShop has some cheap painted jig heads with Eagle Claw Lazer Hooks and they have been working really good.

@@Robot_Chris yes, I just re tie. I usually have about 14 feet of leader so I don't have to re tie my leader often. This style of fishing will work in the Eastern Sierra too. 👌

What do you usually do with your trout?
I usually foil a whole trout with garlic, butter, some garlic/herb mix then bake it. When I get a big one, I'll fillet them and pan sear both side with butter and then squeeze some lemon on later. I give some away when I caught a lot. But when I do catch a lot, I'll make dip out of trout. It is really good.

Nice video , I can't find 3lb braided line anywhere , from where did you get yours? and brand ? Found at Tackledirect , but i's out of stock
The brand is Phenix Ironfeather Braid. I tried looking for a website that sells it but can't find any. I buy mine from my local tackle shop. You can get 5lb powerpro from tackledirect or ebay. You can also find some JDM braid on ebay in 3lb braid. VARIVAS makes some. I'd say check ebay or Amazon.
