To create Ultra Charizard in my own Pokemon Journey when I was a kid, of which the adventure continues even to this day. This video brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for making this.

I honestly like the movie's Ash/Charizard handling a lot more than canon. To this day, I think the original's disobedience plot was unnecessary and bad writing, even if Ash wasn't perfect. Ash literally saved Charmander and would do anything for him. Charizard's respect should've stayed strong all along, and the movie delivered on that.
Troy Oliver Charmander was abandoned, it'e actually good writing for it to evolve into something more untrusting. When a kid is adopted or abandoned or abused, they can first be fine, but when they grow into a teenager, they can have issues, especially with trust. It's very similar actually. You can say you don't like that arc, but don't say it's bad writing if you don't understand it lmao

Love this song and this video. Ash has many great relationships with his Pokemon. But Charizard will always be my favorite. Only ones that come close from what I've seen over the years are Pikachu, Sceptile, Infernape, and I heard Greninja is pretty great but I didn't get that far in the anime. Need convincing that X and Y through the current anime are worth watching. I've heard good things but I am not convinced yet.
