    I can't sleep on my left arm. In the middle of the night, I lose circulation, and it is difficult to push myself off the bed. That's why I sleep belly up, and rarely sleep on my side.

    • @Fitand50Formula
      @Fitand50Formula  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I sleep in every position imaginable over the course of the night. I’m not sure it that is a sign I’m not a very sound sleeper or what.

    The photo of the Bulgarian lifting team shows Turkish Champion “Naim Suleymanoglu” (check the flag on his jersey). Thank you mentioning him. We called him the pocket Hercules. RIP.

    I only have adjustable Blocks. I will sometimes place each block on each shoulder (holding it in each hand with the elbows out in front of me) to squat with. It adds a balance component to it. Making the glute min / med & adductors as stablizer muscles. If older people get anything from this video of information,, hips are the focus to work on and the other muscles will follow along. Same with shoulders as well.

      Having the dumbbells rest on your shoulders takes the load off your forearms, too, so you can focus on the squat and not holding the weight.

    I have arthritis in my hip
    Should I continue squatting?

    • @Fitand50Formula
      @Fitand50Formula  ปีที่แล้ว

      Most of the research I have read is on arthritis in the knees and squatting has helped to reduce knee pain. These were lighter higher rep squats.

    I squatted and paused squatted every day for 2 weeks and I swear I put 40 lbs on my one rep max. Where I could only squat one rep of 405 before I can now squeeze out 5 reps of 405 and one rep of 445.

    That's awesome it's safe to do squats everyday , I wonder for those of us with osteoporosis can doing squats everyday help increase bone density faster? What about lunges?
    Is it safe and beneficial for bone density and muscle doing lunches everyday? For the most part I think squats and lunges are the same except lunges target one side at a time but I hope lunges are good for bone density as well

    • @Fitand50Formula
      @Fitand50Formula  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lunges will increase bone density. It is the muscle pulling on the bone as it’s working that causes bone density to increase.

    • @daysoftheboo
      @daysoftheboo ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Fitand50Formula awesome that's really awesome because sometimes I find I feel more of the muscles working and burning when doing lunges then when I do squats , so it's the burning feeling of the muscle that sending a signal to the bone to get stronger?

    I'm 54...I've never kept fit using any kind of program. My job means I hit 20k steps plus a day in rough terrain for an electricity network. Im still overweight and have no muscle definition despite climbing gates trees and rural extreme landscapes. Is it too late to apply myself to getting a 'happy with my shirt off status?

    • @Fitand50Formula

      It is never to late

    • @CalebSpears1
      @CalebSpears1 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s never too late brother! A few keys that helped me lose and maintain my weight loss:
      -focus on protein. I like the rule of 10g protein per 100 cal (2,000 calories eaten = 200g protein)
      -don’t focus on being perfect, focus on being consistent. A kinda good day of eating is better than giving up. A 10 minute workout is better than a 0 minute workout.
      -track your eating and if you’re feeling crazy start weighing your food with a basic food scale from Amazon. You’ll be amazed at how calorie dense some foods are when you track them accurately. This will teach you how to make better choices and build a sustainable habit of how to eat properly when you’re done losing weight and want to maintain or if you want to take a break from losing.
      -if you miss a day or don’t hit a protein/calorie goal, don’t beat yourself up. Showing up the next day is way better than guilt/shame leading to you quitting. Just brush it off, you’re only human, keep moving
