- Athearn Veranda turbine with LED conversion lighting and Loksound decoder. Trix Big Boy # 4013, 2001 release with LED upgrades and TCS Wow Steam decoder. Proto 2K GP-9 SD-7 with Tsunami 2 decoders.
All models were weathered and DCC programed by me. - วิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี
The locomotive is very well done, the weathering and the sound is great. Very good looking steam engine too. Great layout.

Turbine should have a tender

@@truebras Why not?? How does it get fuel?The tank its got couldnt run it as far in prototype.
The first gen UP gas turbine didn’t start with tenders. They actually have fuel tanks like modern diesels. As UP class 9000 steam locomotives started to retire, their tender were repurposed to be used for first gen standard and veranda turbine. So, those turbine didn’t come from factory with those “auxiliary” tender. That is why Athearn release those first gen turbine with and without tender.
In this video is actually very correct not having the tender since the veranda turbine only run occasionally years with Big Boy or Challenges for only few years.
There are plenty of historical transitions period pictures that support running as the video.
Something new that you should learn.
@troyb1733 You're right, it didnt go far. In 1955 they added the AUX tender. The majority of the GTEL life was ran with extra fuel.
Not sure why we had to be so rude about it.
