Last year I received a 1999 Canadian penny that was accidentally coated with nickel. It weighed in at 2.3 grams as apposed to the copper plated 2.25 grams. I could find nothing like it in existence. It is in perfect condition. I inquired with coin dealers all across Canada and they have never seen or heard about it. I also checked every known 1999 mint error penny and came up empty. This is possibly a one off that could fetch some serious scratch from a collector IMO.

I was wondering if you might be able to talk about the differences in the Canada 2000 25-cent Pride coin (January). There seems to be two types of coins with errors... there's the normal coin..... one with a dot under the date ...... and one with an extra "gem" in the crown and an embellishment at the base of the queens portrait. Not sure if these error coins would amount to anything, but would like to hear your opinion

I may have a rare, one of a kind coin. I found a 1984 copper(?) Canadian dime. It’s the same color as a penny but it is the same size as a dime and stamped exactly like a Canadian dime. It weights 2.05 grams. I did a magnet test and it does not stick to a magnet. This is the info that was relayed to me, and as far as they know, there has not been any other coins like this seen. This is what they said, "A 1980-1981 Canadian cent weighs 2.80 grams. A 1982-1996 Canadian cent weighs 2.50 grams. Canada produced foreign coins for 77 countries. The top 3 matching from 1984, Bronze, Circulating are, Israel 10 New Agorot 2.10 grams and 16mm, Papua New Guinea 1 Toea 2.10 grams and 18mm. New Zealand 1 Cent 2.05 grams and 18mm. I believe it is the New Zealand blank because that was a circulating coin and a Canadian Dime is 18mm. So this means your error is possible and next step is to get it certified." I have been holding onto this coin for over 10 years now and have not gone to get it certified yet. 10 years ago they said it would be worth about 400$ but if I have the only one known to be out there then I figure it could be worth a lot more, no??
I found a 2018 Canadian quarter I found in my American coins. It's in fairly good condition. On the back there's a double line that follows the curvature of the quarter starting at the bottom left corner of the moose and goes through the top of Canada and ends a the 2 of 2018. The lines break up in spots. It looks like die strikes but I don't know if it's common in Canadian currency. Would anyone know?

For some dumb reason I put the Canadian quarters from the dates of 2000 to 2023 in cases and into a binder

The 2020 is Mint. Direct from a mint roll. Coin dealer figures 4 or 5 figure value. Needs grading.👍
