I love watching your videos because you take us on the whole camping trip. Camp setup, cooking food, a cold beer, back on the road.... Thanks for sharing your travels.
Absolutely true. Been riding for forty-two years, and never ever had the urge to torture a small animal. I'd add that an evening scotch and water on the rocks, after the cycle ride is the capper.
Hi Sterling. Instead of using regular paper towels, I use the Scott's Shop Towels. All the benefits of disposal in the fire when they are done, but they are much stronger and I find I get multiple uses out of them before they are too dirty to use anymore.
I use the blue Scott's shop towels for many uses because they're not abrasive, but the mild abrasiveness of cheap paper towels can be an advantage. In the video, Sterling cleaned the top of his folding camp table and.there was a lot of black gunk on the paper towel. Some of it was aluminum oxide so the paper towel was cleaning and polishing the table top. Ditto for cleaning pots and pans. I use the excess paper napkins that fast food restaurants put in the bag. There are always just enough to use as a napkin, camp cleanup, and pooping in the woods. 😂
Brilliant work in putting this entire video together. Such a beautiful, peaceful place. I'm also very impressed by your organisational ability, what with all the handy utensils you neatly packed for your trip.🧡🙂
More great experiences, brought to us with expert story-telling and production, as well as useful tips and tricks to make adventure motorcycling less work and more fun! You're so right; keeping it simple goes a long way towards the success of a trip, no matter what distance you travel. Thanks for your efforts!
Another great episode of Moto Cooking With Sterling. I love these videos. Thank you for taking the time and making the effort to share your adventures, big and small. You have definitely encouraged me to get out more often. It's too easy to become stuck in the domestic routine, trapped on the rat race treadmill.
Thank you, Sterling. This film resonated with me. I felt the gratitude for the places motorcycling can take us, how we can get away for even a night and even though it may be a mini adventure, it can be long on experiences if one is present and open to them.
Sterling, you are so correct on short trips. I've done my share of long trips like you have...but the short ones are great. Sometimes you don't need a full charge! Another great vid.
I really enjoy your videos. I just got back a week ago from 5 nights motorcycle camping at Apache Lake. Living here in Arizona in the winter time is great because we can still get out, and motorcycle camp year round if we are determined enough.
Absolutely, my daughter thinks I make special burgers when we camp. I haven’t had the heart to tell her it’s just because I’m unorganized and she is just that Hungary by the time I get dinner cooked :)
Awesome. Yeah most of us have commitments, but a nice ride and an overnight really refreshes your soul. I remember in the Army we had 1/2 Oz bottles of Tabasco, would be perfect to throw in the pack. Thanks and Peace all.
These micro adventures are a great way to validate gear load out and even the riders capabilities. I’m driving down to Florida from Virginia on my electric motorcycle next month and had not done a long trip like this before. So one Sunday I rode an equal distance of one of the legs and learned SO much. It’s funny how certain little things on a bike don’t bother you when just commuting, but when your on the bike all day it becomes an annoyance. I fixed a lot of those little issues (floppy side mirror, squeaky bolt, etc). Thanks for the videos, Sterling!!!
Very generous of you to show us all the relaxing lifestyle and the time we all should give ourselves. My wife and I will make our way down from Montreal in september and probably will stop by Bisbee. Would be great to meet you. I carry my 1978 550k in the van towing a small trailer. Looking forward, Sterling.
I’ve observed the Dragoon range from afar and has fantasies of hiking and exploring there. It’s a little far from my Central California home so an overnighter without family tagging along won’t be happening but I could definitely see riding out solo or with a pal and basing from your motel. Your wonderful videos indicate there are a ton of adventures to be had down there! Thanks for taking us along on this one. Can’t get enough!
Nice to watch your video, been snowing the last few days your videos make me want to take a road trip and get some riding in. Thanks for posting the video, very much enjoyed your Riding Solo series you just posted
Thanks for the videos. Planning some moto camping for 2021 when the weather breaks around here. You've validated some concepts and given many helpful tips I plan to use. Cheers!
Sterling, I’m not sure about anyone else but your videos are definitely inspiring to me! Thank you very much!! I’m looking forward to riding down from Canada straight to the Jonquil.... in a round about way!
Glad it was helpful! It's a lot of fun and easier to do a short trip like this, and then menu as you mention can be very different than what you might be able to come up with on the road.
Hi Sterling, thanks for another neat video. I watch these with my wife because she notices everything about what you use, she bought me a Firebox for Christmas! I'll look for your Amazon page so she can see what else I'm missing :) I was over in the area where you camped years ago and my buddy showed me the adobe ruins of an old stagecoach stop. Now I'll have to get back over there to try and find it and the pictographs you found...oh, and also break in my Firebox. Thanks for the inspiration!
I always get excited and start planning a short trip when l see you prepare the food and see you cook 🙂 l don't have all the gear you have but l plan to get there sooner than later. Thanks for all your inspiring videos 🙂👍
Sterling. Another terrific video. I must say, you have it nailed. Great system. Must have taken a long time to tweak it to near perfection. Thanks. Oh and I love the Christmas lights in the tree. Nice touch.
Sterling the great thing about wood and paper ashes is they're so useful fertilizer lay them thick Add Water they Harden ( dust control )so many useful things can be done with just simple ashes.
Wow, that's a great video. It's such a beautiful ride on a vast expanse of land. I'm glad to be a friend of your great channel. Happy New Year. Always stay healthy. 👍👍👍🤝🤝🤝🤙👌💯
Hello Sterling, very nice overnight getaway. In case we/I don't see you before years' end I wanted to wish you and your family/friends a very happy New Year. Ciao
You are so right. That that small trip or ride during the week, can really reset you mentally. I spent a nice evening in your charming hotel, before heading to the Chiricahua's and back home the next day. I hope to head back soon. Thank You
Hi, A little bit of info, you probably already know. The dirt road you took from Tombstone to the Dragoons is called Middle March road. The pass it makes through the Dragoon mountains is Middle March Pass (about the middle of the march for soldiers from old Fort Huachuca, to old Fort Bowie). That great big rock in the middle of your view of the Dragoons, as you drive towards them, is called, Sheeps Head (resembles the head of a sheep looking to the left)).Right below Sheeps Head, where the windmill is, and in the area you camped in, they made a Danny Glover movie, called "Buffalo Soldiers," (back in the 90's when I lived in Tombstone (gives you a good look at the area). If you stay on Middle March road, going past where you turned off to camp, a short distance is a track (road?), to the left, that will take you up on top, behind Sheeps Head, to an area called China Camp (a nice area to explore). I had an old 82 Honda XL-450, I explored all over the area, back in the 90's.
Yes, I learn something on every trip too. I've been thinking about adding an insulated container to my minimal outfit. Luke warm sweet tea and bourbon is my go-to, but Man, I bet that ice cold beer hit the spot.
Hello Mr. Noren, my name is Lee Peterson, I live in St David.. Love watching your TH-cam channel. I'm a photographer also. Have been watching your GlobeRiders in Africa. Cool video! Thanks for sharing.
Just found your channel and I'm really enjoying the relaxing videos. I'm hoping to get out to that area sometime soon on a cross-country trip and will definitely stay at the Jonquil Hotel if I'm around.
Really enjoying this new format Sterling. I hope you don’t take this the wrong way, but your production value keeps getting better and better. You seem so much more comfortable with your presentation. It’s really great.
Thanks Seamus - its been a journey moving from behind the camera to in-front of the camera. I like this format too and have several more like this to come.
Love the videos. I live in Mescal just west of Benson. I love exploring Southern AZ on my KLR and Vstrom. Council Rocks is a very interesting place. Enjoy my friend.
I feel relaxed just watching your videos, although you've prompted a shopping spree. I now have the stove and tongs, tried to get the knife, but sold out.
Nice video. Your trip gave me some flashbacks from my motorcycle trip last summer in the northern parts of Sweden.Drive safe and take care of yourself. Best regards from a rainy Sweden
Iam a new sub really like what your doing Good vib on your channel Can tell you are liking this overlanding thanks for taking us along Iam in southern Colorado doing some day trip overlanding and Not well equipped so keeping it simple Will my kit together when i get back to AZ Going to watch some of your videos to ight thaks again

Sausage, cabbage, onions and apples - it's a good thing you are riding solo!! Yes, MASTER videography.
Sterling is a MASTER of a film maker: writer, director, star, photographer, editor, philosopher, narrator...and chef! Every episode is a work of art.
Masterful cinematography .
Watching this...feels like I've just been on a mini holiday
I agree! Another great video! 🍻
Sterling, it was another relaxing video to end the year. . . Great choice on the music.

I just can’t decide what is better: storytelling or the scenery. Amazing talent.
Great footage! Thanks.
Unreal scenery...agree with short trips to fine tune your set up 👍
In the last weeks I have been struggling with just getting out for a day or two. Thank you for the inspiring words!
