    Thanks for the really good tips . I’m new at being a BKA and all your stuff is really helpful. Soon I’ll be on the trail.

    I saw you on Facebook and I believe you are an inspiration, please keep it up! :).
    Here is a tip someone gave me not long ago: you can actually divide your video into chapters so that people can go to the chapters they are more interested about.
    You just need to write the times in the description, like:
    00:00 Introduction
    00:31 Tip number 1: Check with your doctor
    ...
    I find this to be great because we live in a "fast world", and maybe some people watching are only interested in 2 of the tips, not all of them. Or people just get bored before the interesting part (for them) comes. Also, I have noticed, some people like to skip the intro.
    Hope this helps and keep it up!

    Great, thanks. I’m wondering more about liner care when you’re outdoors for a period of time.

      Baby wipes. I have a package of them on overnight backpacking trips. I use a couple to clean my stump and then a couple more to clean the liner. Works really well.

    I'm an avid hiker and also a right BKA amputee, my solution to the pants conundrum is that I wear utility kilts while hiking, the most comfortable and practical garment for this purpose. I don't expect many guys to follow my advice, but if one were to get over the hubub over kilts, one would find himself in a wonderfully practical hiking garment

    • @amputeeoutdoors
      @amputeeoutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      I've considered that option a few times. What are your pros and cons to hiking in kilts?

    • @ruygutierrez2995
      @ruygutierrez2995 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the pros : 1. extremely comfortable, 2. they are cool in warm weather and can be layered for winter wear, 3.much easier to do the necessary evacuations without having to take pants off, etc., 4. kilts don't get soiled as easily, 5. you have greater mobility, and last but not least: they look great and you get a lot of compliments from the ladies ! The cons: 1. guys will make some snide remark about "the skirt", 2. they are a pain to iron all those pleats (although now they manufacture synthetic fiber hiking kilts which dry very quickly, but they don't look as nice as the cotton utility kilts)

      Yeah, there are excuses, and what I try to help people understand is there are also ways to accomplish things despite the challenges we face.
