Buildcraft Quarry Full Setup (Tekkit/Feed The Beast) - Minecraft In Minutes

- The Quarry is a BuildCraft machine that is used to automatically mine out large areas. By default, it will mine out a 9 x 9 area of land down to bedrock, given enough time and MJ power.
The default area to be mined can be altered with Land Marks by defining a rectangle or cuboid with them and placing the Quarry next to one of the Land Marks. Black and yellow guidelines will appear showing the area it will be working on.
When first powered, the Quarry will spawn a floating robot that destroys any blocks within the yellow and black guidelines. It then forms a structure of Quarry Frames that outlines the area to be mined, and the drill appears. The Quarry will keep the chunks that it is mining on loaded in memory even if unpowered, thus it can serve as an expensive alternative to the Chunk Loader.

protip: always flood the area you are mining out, that way it wont stop when it reaches lava, because it will be turned into cobblestone!

if you have tekkit, you can just use aluminium wire and a generator, in my case a tri-core multiblock reactor from the big reactors mod.

brilliantly informative, short, straight to the point, well edited, easy to understand (bonus points for being aussie). this is a perfect channel. just one question: i know lava can be skipped over by putting water in the quarry, turning any lava in the quarry to mineable obsidian. however, one cannot put water in the nether, so do you have any tips for using a quarry in the nether, for example a pump or something?
tip: if you have solar flux on your modpack, those solar panels work pretty well for me
And if you feel like screwing around, set a pipe so it keeps throwing the items back into the quarry so it keeps picking them up

does the pipe matter, because in your video you use gold kinesis to power the quarry. But what i use in my game is cobblestone kinesis. Does the kinesis give the quarry more power?

What do you use to record your minecraft video?
I just wanna know how to wire the quarry up to send certain blocks such as cobble and dirt to a certain chest, say a trashcan, then send any other blocks to a storage chest for safekeeping.

Guys don't do the combustion engines just download and install extra utilities put a nether star generator x64 next to it and fill with 5 nether stars and be amazed
Always love your videos! Can you do some videos on undocumented mods like Mariculture? Mariculture makes its own Forestry bee breeding but with fish breeding and is a LOT more complicated... x.x

ok, so I set up a 62x62 space with land marks and everything, and with 3 combustion engines running connected via Golden Kinesis pipes, and on the quarry itself, it says I'm getting ~20 MJ/t, but nothing's happening?
This was very informative but you didnt explain why items spit out of the quarry even if you have pipes to a storage system

How I connect the quarry to a MFSU?
The MFSU outputs EU, the Quarry runs on MJ, so you need to convert EU to MJ with blocks from the Energy Converters mod.
MFSU -> HV Energy Consumer -> Energy Bridge -> MJ Energy Producer -> Quarry
WHAT PIPES ARE YOU USING FOR THE COMBUSTION ENGINES?
Redstone (conductive) pipes.
1.11.2 version doesnt have redstone pipes, is there an alternative?
yeah use wooden kinesis pipes at the engine, they have to connect to the engine itself, then you can use whichever kinesis pipe, just connect it to the wooden one. So in order it'd go: Engine>wooden kinesis pipe>other kinesis pipe eg wooden, gold, emerald etc

Make sure you’re mining at the right level! It only will spawn around Y 20-50!

You can get spawners? Or it destroys the spawners
If the only mod you have is BuildCraft, it destroys the spawners for sure, but I know a mod called Ender IO lets the player destroy and pick up a spawner, but I'm not sure if a quarry would
do know how to make a way to destroy all of the cobblestone from the quarry i know how just not how to just destroy the cobble
put a sorter pipe which leads the cobble to a void pipe

Water as coolant and Oil or Fuel as a fuel

I build a small 3x3 reactor to power the quarry. It’s more convenient than having to deal with all the engines

My combustion engines wont do anything.
Put oil, fuel, or biofuel and then use a lever to activate it.
