As a Tulane Alum and die hard fan, I knew this would happen. Honestly, the way we played, we should have lost 55-0. A lot of the articles I've seen say something like "SMU upsets Tulane" but by any objective measure, SMU has been the most dominant AAC team this year. Top 15 in the FBS for scoring offense and defense. Tulane got the benefit of the doubt in the rankings based off of their performance last year. Honestly, I think this team had the talent of a 7-5 team, but the coaching put us over the top to 11-1. Still a great team and a great year, but When we beat ECU by 3 and SMU beats everyone by 30+, then is this really an upset? Clearly SMU should go to a NY6 bowl instead of Liberty.
Good season, Green Wave it's going to be difficult to replace Coach Fritz, but I hope the program continues to grow. We love you, coach, and best of luck in Houston they will be in good hands.
I agree. The team was defeated before taking the field. The new Tulane AD will look like he’s full of it when Fritz leaves. I see this as Tulane’s last chance to redeem the school athletics and save the national coverage. It’s like Fritz was never here watching this fart of a game.
