So Ladybaby has been cited as the first group to follow in the Babymetal style of Kawaii Metal and this video garnered over 1 million views in its first 24hrs across all platforms!! They went thru 3 different interations. The first one was this...with Ladybeard, Rei and Rie. They produced a handful of songs before Ladybeard left the group in August 2016 citing "Visa Issues". He later returned to Japan and formed a new group called "Deadlift Lolita". Currently he has another new group called "Babybeard" After Ladybeard left, Rei and Rie continued on as a duo and renamed the group "The Idol Formerly Known As Ladybaby". They also produced a handful of fun songs but in late 2017 Rei left the group to rejoin her sister in the Band "Brats"..(good group, check'm out). Finally, in January 2018 Rie reformed the group with 3 new members and brought back the original name of "Ladybaby". This 3rd iteration of the group was arguably the most successful with several charted songs and a much wider touring schedule. In September 2019 they announced that they would cease operations after their final performance on January 13th, 2020. Concurrent to this performance the band released their final MV "Misogi Island" which included a farewell letter to their many fans. It was a fun ride with this group and I still miss the excitement i felt every time they would drop a new video. Rie has since started her own Solo career S the Idol "Ilie" and the screamer girl from Ladybaby, Emily, has since joined "Passcode" as their new screamer replacing Yuna in 2021. @@satan_dkReacts666 This group didn't get the traction like Babymetal did...they had a small budget and they formed during all the "Hate" that was being thrown at Babymetal in the early days so they kinda suffered the fate (branded as a Gimmick) that the haters wished upon Babymetal. Fun group though and the later group has some Really good songs. Luck!

So in this case, "serious band" is pretty relative. Like it's not meant to be a joke band, but also they have a ton of fun, and bring the audience along while making really cool music.

I started into Idol Formerly Known... and was immensely entertained to realize that the dude in Lolita dresses left and the group got gayer. 🤣
You should check out their song Misogi Island, it's one of their last before splitting up for good, and it's in my opinion their best song.
