- Breakout star Kaylee Hottle, whose debut role as Jia in Godzilla vs. Kong earned her spot in the sequel, discusses her character's evolving journey in the MonsterVerse franchise. Starting at just 10 years old, Hottle plays Dr. Ilene Andrews' (Hall) adopted daughter from the Iwi tribe of Skull Island. Jia has now become such an integral/important part of the Monsterverse that I can no longer imagine any more movies without her.

Aside from the monsters Jia is the star and heart of these two Godzilla kong films. She is easily one of the best, most interesting monsterverse human characters
I just saw this movie and even though I can hear, I took 2 years of ASL, 8 weeks of ASL/Eng Linguistics and 8 weeks of ASL/Eng translation and spent about 2 semesters at our deaf school. I love this!
Some of these comments show how ignorant some people are. If you cannot say something nice or build someone up, dont say anything at all. I am sure she has no problem being deaf, and ASL is a beautiful and expressive language. Who said speaking is better than ASL? I hope more deaf people are included in movies and tv shows.

I remember when Collider had actual people(colleagues) in the same room/sound stage and talking to each other and invite guess over and more talking at their own company home office. Fast forward to post pandemic present day and we mostly see them talking to the other person on the webcam and in their own bedroom for the sake of favorable acoustic effects. The fact that he's conducting the interview in his own room with sound echoing of the walls just make me wish he'd done it in the bedroom so the linings (blankets and soft furniture and pillows) absorbing the audio vibrations.
Kayle is indeed one of the best actresses in this movie she is beautiful but unfortunately she is mute 😂

Here''s my pitch for a lighthearted sci-fi romcom. Ms. Hottle stars as a teen computer whiz who is programming an AI that will serve as a translator for multiple languages (including ASL), but the AI falls in love with her and she had to figure out what to do about it. Nothing too serious; just wacky fun.
