The first Red Faction was the best one. You could mine almost eternity in the terrain on the maps. You could did insanely long tunnels or blow up large terrain bridges. The later games focused more on building demolition and not terrain destruction. Something that made the first game awesome.
How could you not include H3VR? It may not be as well-known as Alyx, but it's got the best game physics I've ever seen. The gun handling are just phenomenal with the realism.
Other honourable mentions: Alone in the Dark and Far Cry 2 for fire physics, Virtua Fighter and Tomb Raider II for hair physics on extremely early 3d engines, Jagged Alliance 2 and Silent Storm for early examples of fantastic destruction physics, Sea of Thieves for ocean physics, GTA IV for euphoria, water and vehicle/damage physics, Banjo Kazooie nuts and bolts for being one of the first games to actually try believable vehicle building physics and Crysis because Crysis.
I always though the Mercenaries series was super cool that you could ACTUALLY destroy buildings and bridges. I used to just go around as a kid and destroy Everything for fun.
Far Cry 2 had an impressive fire simulation physics, it didn't had, still have. How the fire spread through the vegetation is really amazing and modern games never achieved what Far Cry 2 did 14 years ago.
I remember playing red faction guerrilla for years, nothing matched the way everything was able to be destroyed. Even got the remastered version. I wish there was another open world red faction with the stunning destruction that comes with the series. They're truly beautiful games for what they are
Funnily enough, The Finals is in closed beta now (I think)! JackFrags did a video on it, it looks incredibly fun! Apparently made by ex-Battlefield and Battlefront devs.

I'm surprised teardown wasn't number one on the list, and I played most of the games listed. It's the most impressive I've seen so far. Why was breath of the wild even on this list? It barely has physics at all! Did you use ChatGTP to make this list or is someone just terrible at their job?
im so glad you talked about Control. its by far my favorite game. if youre reading this, please give it a shot especially if youre into SCP and HP lovecraft/ eldritch abstract horror
It's very difficult to do gore and a huge amount of work, every single bit of damage that you see in Doom is a specific model they had to create and seamlessly integrate during gameplay on every single enemy etc.
Stormworks should've made the list. Not just for the wave/water or wind/flying physics. But the engine and vehicle building dynamics are unreal on their own
Control isn't even an old game, it's practically new! It's stupid to expect a studio to pump out sequels immediately! What if they want to make something else first? Ever thought about what they want to spend years of their life on?
I'm SHOCKED Boneworks or Bonelabs wasn't on this list! I love half life alyx, but Boneworks has the best physics of any game I've ever played. 100/10 worth checking out.
Boneworks has bad physics compared to Alyx, it just utilizes them more. Boneworks is interaction at the cost of immersion and alyx is immersion at the cost of interaction.
Glad Red Faction was included, that entire series was amazing and innovative with its Geo-Mod technology. Even the first on still hasn’t been matched for its freedom of destruction, I think.
One old goodie that should be mentioned is Cryostasis: Sleep of Reason. Survival horror before that genre was even brought to the surface. Back then absolutely balls to the walls physics as it was PhysX techdemo for liquid physics and it's beautiful in that. Also just the mechanics around cold and warm are so well done it is a shame it got medicore reviews and never even got any cult following even.
snow runner is the funnest driving game i’ve ever played. the mods and realism of the physics is what makes snow runner one of the best out there. the size of the game too is insane.
Gravity Rush's flying mechanics as "falling" was a great spin on the super power. likewise, controlling gravity was cool. the whole game had a great feeling of motion as you "fell" across around the map along with other abilities.
I would have thought Outer Wilds would be here. Heard so many good things about it and that you shouldn't watch anything about it but play it instead. I guess that's why its not here so it doesn't spoil anything about it. A friend told me that one of her friends bought the game for someone else to play and had them stream it so they could experience the game again.
I'd love to see a video on games with the best cloth physics. Not enough people praise cloth physics when they're great and so it feels like developers have kinda just done the bare minimum in alot of games nowadays.
That Besiege would be such a good game in VR (in a MOSS kind of setup). Making the machines with your hands! I can see that getting incredibly addictive. Also, I’m getting this game anyway, never heard of it, looks ace, thanks.
This is one of your guys best lists IMO. I agree and love all the games I have played on this list. We need more games like this. I'm thinking RFG in control universe with beam ng car physics would be the best game ever made. Great video guys!
I know it's not out yet but I'm surprised 'The Finals' isn't among the bonus games. The destruction physics are incredible, even moreso considering it's multiplayer
Half-Life Alyx is SUCH an amazing game. It's to the point where I feel that every Half-Life game should be VR from here on out. That's how perfect it feels.
I remember seeing a video where the creator simulated real world footage of crashes in BeamNG and the simulation was ridiculously similar to what happened irl.
As always, great content Falcon. I just played snowrunner in rl this past Saturday morning. We got dumped on by a terrible snow storm here in NE Oakland County. Alone in the Dark and Far Cry 2 for fire physics, Virtua Fighter and Tomb Raider II for hair physics on extremely early 3d engines, Jagged Alliance 2 and Silent Storm for early examples of fantastic destruction physics, Sea of Thieves for ocean physics, GTA IV for euphoria, water and vehicle/damage physics, Banjo Kazooie nuts and bolts for being one of the first games to actually try believable vehicle building physics and Crysis because Crysis.
I always though the Mercenaries series was super cool that you could ACTUALLY destroy buildings and bridges. I used to just go around as a kid and destroy Everything for fun.
👌
sad mercenaries didnt make the list
It's nice to see Snowrunner getting some love!
No Just Cause ?
Far Cry 2 had an impressive fire simulation physics, it didn't had, still have. How the fire spread through the vegetation is really amazing and modern games never achieved what Far Cry 2 did 14 years ago.
Returnal’s particle physics engine is nuts.
Red Faction Guerrilla was such an amazing game back in the days! Could spend hours just destroying stuff!
👍🏼
Besieged only reminds me of Markiplier lmao
NOTA-PEN-IS is the most useful machine of destruction 🤣🤣🤣
😅
I remember playing red faction guerrilla for years, nothing matched the way everything was able to be destroyed. Even got the remastered version. I wish there was another open world red faction with the stunning destruction that comes with the series. They're truly beautiful games for what they are
Funnily enough, The Finals is in closed beta now (I think)! JackFrags did a video on it, it looks incredibly fun! Apparently made by ex-Battlefield and Battlefront devs.
guarantee that games beta going live today was the inspiration for this video
Battlefield Bad Company 2 had really cool destruction physics. I think it was 2 anyways.
Control was lit
👆🏻
Never played it but I'm thinking about looking into it I loved Alan Wake and I'd play it just for the Wake connection
@Reanu Keeves it's no longer on game pass bit it's on sale for 70 percent off the ultimate edition
@user-nu7dk6zj9p 70??? Gosh. To think I got it when it first dropped for 40 on ps network.
@user-nu7dk6zj9p funny story! I got this game and was noticing the files you read a long the story mention Alan wake ( a game I heard a lot about but never ) played. Long story short it got me interested in Alan wake just before the remake was announced.
Dude Hardpoint Ship Breaker is my Jam. Lo key chill vibes and a nice story added in for those who want experience the life of an underpaid Wrecker. I'll put a good work in to the foreman if any of you want a job. He's super laid back 😁
I'm surprised teardown wasn't number one on the list, and I played most of the games listed. It's the most impressive I've seen so far. Why was breath of the wild even on this list? It barely has physics at all! Did you use ChatGTP to make this list or is someone just terrible at their job?
im so glad you talked about Control. its by far my favorite game. if youre reading this, please give it a shot especially if youre into SCP and HP lovecraft/ eldritch abstract horror
i hope more games would be like this with good gore physics
Of course it has to be the guy with the Doom slayer pic
Prototype
It's very difficult to do gore and a huge amount of work, every single bit of damage that you see in Doom is a specific model they had to create and seamlessly integrate during gameplay on every single enemy etc.
Stormworks should've made the list. Not just for the wave/water or wind/flying physics. But the engine and vehicle building dynamics are unreal on their own
There's a new game coming out soon called The Finals that has really cool environmental destruction. Worth checking out!
Some pretty impressive looking gameplay videos has been uploaded the last few days. It looks like a blast! :)
The fact that GTA 4 wasn’t mentioned at all is criminal tbh
and FarCry 2
It's a damn shame we didn't get a sequel to Control. I loved the premise. And Hydrophobia was kind of cool.
Hopefully soon
Control 2 just announced last year. Maybe we'll get them in 4-5 years time.
@@penyuwan nah due to making other games like Alan wake 2 max Payne remakes it will take a long time
Control isn't even an old game, it's practically new!
Fear, Max payne (all of them), gta 4, Battlefield bc 2, 3 and 4. 🙄
Just Cause.....
Fear 1 was wild and extremely violent
Glad Red Faction was included, that entire series was amazing and innovative with its Geo-Mod technology.
Even the first on still hasn’t been matched for its freedom of destruction, I think.
Where is Gmod?? Explain yourself Falcon!
loololololololol
Physics!
**Shows Link fanning a sail to move**
😅
Anyone else on the toilet?
Yup rn
Not rn will let you know when I am
Just in bed. With...
This was a great one. I learned about a bunch of new titles. Thanks! 🙏
Everything you see realistic physics in gameranx video expect teardown & red faction gorilla in the list over 9000
My favorite YT channel
🤝
I am VERY Happy with teardown being "nominated" for this category! :))
👌👍🏼
@@gameranxTV You replied almost Instantly! 😅
Dude all ur games are the best honestly ☺🤩
I love these "Falcon Explains" videos. I've done a marathon of them. I still get nostalgic tingles when he first introduces himself as "Falcon".
Haven't you considered "Outer Wilds"? How gravity works and the handle of the ship is just amazing.
That Besiege would be such a good game in VR (in a MOSS kind of setup). Making the machines with your hands! I can see that getting incredibly addictive.
Also, I’m getting this game anyway, never heard of it, looks ace, thanks.
Red Faction Guerrilla OG😎🏆
This is one of your guys best lists IMO. I agree and love all the games I have played on this list. We need more games like this. I'm thinking RFG in control universe with beam ng car physics would be the best game ever made. Great video guys!
Love me some vidya gams (0:06). Great video as always guys!
👌
I remember seeing a video where the creator simulated real world footage of crashes in BeamNG and the simulation was ridiculously similar to what happened irl.
As always, great content Falcon.
I just played snowrunner in rl this past Saturday morning. We got dumped on by a terrible snow storm here in NE Oakland County. Fiancée decided to not get some products she should’ve the night before and long story short I was digging out her Forte out at 9am on the first day off of some much needed PTO 😔 . I’d rather not experience that snow game again.
I wish you would have highlighted Teardown's incredible fire physics, which no other game in history has ever even come close to.
Hidden gem Paper Beast has some of the coolest water and landspacing physics using sand, wind, heat and ice.
Snowrunner is great. Lost 2 years to that one. And I still play it every once and a while
- Noita: Every pixel has its own physics
- The Finals: Upcoming multiplayer game with full server-side destruction (Skill Up has a good video)
Even after all these years, nothing tops the feeling of dropping a building on a squad in Bad Company 2.
👍🏼
