Thanks for this video, it's really helpful. I've been considering the DTP340 mics and wondering whether the difference in quality was worth the extra bit of price. My budget is more in the T-Bone range. It's great to hear them compared. How is the DTP340 on a 16" tom? Does it get muddy?
So you tested the 2 mics side by side However, what you didn't test is one thing that I'm extremely interested in. The lewitt mic is a super cardioid pattern and the t bone is a cardioid pattern. So in theory, the lewett should be better at bleed from other drums and cymbals. Can you share your experience as far as the bleed goes?
I've not really tested that side-by-side to be honest, mostly because the bleed doesn't really bother me too much. It definitely hasn't been a noticeable issue with the Lewitts. If I get time I'll do a quick test and get back to you

I started using AKG D112’s on toms and never looked back.

please learn how to tune your toms first... no mic wont make those sound good
😂😂
LOL
I think the problem is more the proximity to the heads and the angle of the mics.
